Kilmarnock Inn

Wonderful place to stay. Friendly staff. Clean, comfortable room. The Inn was recommended by some friends who have stayed there many times. It didn't disappoint. We were unexpectedly upgraded to a lovely suite. There is no elevator, so if stairs are a problem check first. The room was very quiet (except for the heater fan). The food and service were excellent. We will be back.

Truly unique place to stay. Staff was very welcoming. Plenty of parking. We stayed in the Tippecanoe Room, which had its own private porch and looked out onto the courtyard. We arrived well before check in time and our room was ready. The room was immaculate. Plenty of room to put our stuff. Small refrigerator in the room, large-screen TV, huge king-size bed. Our bathroom was huge as well, plenty of soft towels, a hair dryer, lots of room as we were both able to be in there at the same time to get ready for dinner. The bathroom even had a heater in the ceiling; perfect for when you get out of the shower. Plenty of room to sit in the room, chairs are roomy and plentiful. Lots of lighting. The HVAC in the room was quiet and we were able to set it for the temperature at which we felt comfortable. Just across from our cottage/room, was the Jefferson Room. Lots of places to congregate, sit and read, listen to music, play pool or table shuffleboard, there was a chess, backgammon and checker board as well. A small kitchen in there also to get ice and wash dishes if needed. Restroom was also in there. A super cool place especially if traveling with other couples or the kids. Nice, quiet place to hang out and enjoy the time. The inn is decorated to the hilt with presidential historical stuff. Fascinating to walk around and just take it all in. I would highly recommend the Kilmarnock Inn when heading to the Northern Neck of Virginia or stopping through to another destination. I will be glad to recommend this place to friends who are traveling through. By the way, easily accessible to town, less than a block from Main Street with tons of restaurants, boutiques, and other types of shopping.

My wife and I spent one night at the Inn and loved every second of our stay. Our room was perfect as was the courtyard it overlooked. The staff and service were exceptional. The restaurant has a small bar and it was a great place to have a drink and appetizer before exploring the town. Breakfast in the morning was delicious as well. We will definitely stay again but more than one night next time.

We booked all of Kilmarnock Inn for our wedding weekend, and it was one of the best decisions we made. Our friends and family could not stop talking about how charming it was. The breakfasts (included with your stay) are so good, and it's so fun to go downstairs and eat with everyone! The rooms are clean and nice and comfortable. Shawn and the staff could not have been more accommodating. They helped us put welcome bags in everyone's room and really made our weekend special. They even put a congrats message for us on the sign out front. Finally, the "gathering room" is such a great space with pool and shuffleboard tables. Our guests ended up spending a lot of time in there! Thank you, Kilmarnock Inn!

We reserved the Taylor cabin for a weekend in September and throughly enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable, clean, quiet and well equipped with a refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. A game room on the cute little compound is completely with a shuffle board, pool table, game boards and an ice machine. The restaurant on site offers delicious and hearty breakfasts (included with our room) and yummy dinners. We opted to split the 8oz filet, crab cake and shrimp on our first night and it did not disappoint! The owner, Sean, is always a pleasure (and interesting) to talk to. Finally, I would like to add that the inn itself is in a great location as everything in town is within walking distance. Thanks for making our anniversary a delight!

Where do I begin? We have friends in Kilmarnock and when we visit we always stay over night, normally at a chain hotel up the road from this Inn, I was always under the impression that they were expensive so never bothered to check them out but boy am I glad I did. We will never stay anywhere else while in town. We decided to eat lunch before checking in and I am so glad we did! Missy sat us at a table on their delightful porch, food was outstanding as well as Missy. She brought our room key to the table and after lunch she walked us to our room. What service, and with a smile the entire time. Room was spotless, bed comfy and bath had everything we needed, we even had a balcony to sit on that faced their gorgeous grounds. The inn was super quiet at night. The next morning we had a wonderful breakfast (included with the cost of the room) on their porch. This time our server was Karen, another amazing lady who even checked us out from our dining table. Check-in and check-out were both a breeze and our interactions with these two wonderful ladies was so very nice. We can't wait to return. By the way....cost wise, not much more that the chain hotel and a delicious breakfast is included, plus beautiful grounds and super sweet folks!
