The owner of the accommodation is quite "communicative", which seems to be the main feature in some reviews. However, this cannot compensate for a lack of honesty in the description of the accommodation and breakfast (details below). The accommodation is only mediocre, and very overpriced for the standard offered and the area. We were in the "Châtaigniers" room. This is very dark, with hardly any daylight, as it only has one small window, with a high wall directly opposite. As far as we could see, this also applies to the "Fruits Rouges" and "Genêts" rooms. The room and bathroom were clean, but the fixtures and furnishings are primitive/cheap. In particular the bathroom does not seem to have been constructed/furnished professionally, but appears rather self-made and amateur. The beds were comfortable, but were not made, nor was the room/bathroom cleaned, during our 3-night stay (pre-booked, based on the misleading information on the internet), in contrast to all other B&Bs we stayed in during our 14-day holiday in France. Breakfast was served in a corner of the owner's large storage room. It was quite monotonous and precisely "rationed" every day: 2 slices of bread (some of it already old), 2 mini croissants, a small portion of jam, a pot of yoghurt and a small apple per person, plus coffee. The following information on the accomodation's website (lecrouzat.fr) is pure fiction: No homemade "sablés", "gâteaux", "brioches", "viennoiseries", etc. (nor any such items bought at a bakery) were available at breakfast on any day. There is no terrace in front of the room(s), and certainly not an individual terrace per room, as stated in the breakfast description, but just a single large communal area covered with gravel, with the charm of a parking lot. There are not "numerous" restaurants near Crouzat as claimed, there are none. When we asked for the address of restaurants in the vicinity the owner informed us that the nearest open restaurant was beyond Lamastre, about 25 minutes away by car. The swimming pool was not heated as stated, although it was still high season (which of course still applied to the room prices). Conclusion: We would not choose the accommodation again for a stay of several days. It might be OK for one night, if no other options are available.
