Rooms at the Apple Pie

We got a late deal on the loft room at The Apple Pie. The location is ideal for exploring Ambleside and our room overlooked the famous bridge house. Our room was lovely with a comfy bed, smart TV and a fridge. The bathroom had a good shower (albeit over a bath) and great views from the windows. We had a lovely weekend here and would recommend this venue.

We visited the Apple pie this weekend as we were up in Ambleside doing the Lakeland recce. I rang and booked the room very last minute. It was ideal small , affordable, very clean and no charge for the parking. They don't do bed and breakfast but we didn't need it. They do however leave you a taster of their homemade gingerbread in the room which is amazing and 10% discount in their shop next door.. Which we made use of. Ideal location right in the centre of Ambleside.

I stayed here in room 2 for two nights while on business. The welcome was friendly with a late check-in self-service option for those that might need it. The property is maintained to a high standard, with comfortable bed, quality furnishings and a clean modern en-suite. Breakfast is not included, but guests receive a 10% discount off at the Apple Pie Cafe next door. I am due to stay again in a weeks time, and I am looking forward to it.

Awesome spot managed to get the attic I think very popular spot. Clean quirky and comfortable- as it is the attic “ bend don’t bump” signs are welcome . Awesome roof window that initially didn’t work but was sorted promptly Great staff great location limited parking . Once we parked we were not moving

We stayed in the loft at the apple pie .( Separate to the hotel , and above their bakery ) . It was room 34 , up a couple of flights of stairs. We had 3 nights in this stunning location. Our room view was of the fells in the background and the famous little house over the river by some courtyard eating areas just below us . The huge window and a couple of well placed chairs made for the perfect place to sit and relax . You purchased breakfast in their cafe ( discount with room key ) . What a stunning plate of food . I can't wait to return .

This was our second stay here with the previous being in November 2021. On both occasions we were in room 5. We were here for 3 nights this time. Although no room to park on arrival, we were directed to use a parking area allocated to the guest house which was less than a 5 minute walk away. We were greeted in a friendly manner and orientated to the facilities. Our room was on the first floor, accessed via a steep and narrow stair case. Our room had a double (?king sized bed) which was very comfortable. The heating could be adjusted by altering the settings on the radiator. However, the radiator was blocked in by the wardrobe. The room is small, with only one chair, but this was adequate for us as we were only in the room to sleep. The WIFI was good, as good as at home. There was a kettle in the room with sachets of coffee and different types of teas and infusions. Additionally, there was a cafetiere and “proper coffee.” I note the presence of the ginger biscuits from the Apple Pie bakery, but we didn’t try this. Fresh milk was available 24 hours/day from the fridge on the ground floor along with an “honesty” jar for crisps and other drinks. Also in the room were x2 wine glasses. In the bathroom was shower/body wash and hand wash. The bathroom contained toilet, basin and shower cubicle. The bathroom was very narrow with a heated towel rail. Towels and a tidy up of the room could be requested by leaving a sign on the room handle to indicate the request to staff. Otherwise, your room would be left untouched during the stay. Other facilities included the offer to use a drying room on the ground floor to store wet clothing, shoes etc. The room suffered from condensation with rivers of moisture running down the window each morning, however the room didn’t display any signs of damp or mould. This is a room only facility, though breakfast can be obtained at a 10% discount from the adjacent bakery/cafe on presentation of your room key to staff. This opens at 9am which was fine for our leisurely stay. This added £20/day approximately to our stay. Overnight, the sound of other visitors could easily be heard moving about in other rooms. We could manage this by using ear plugs. Would stay in this well located facility again.
