This is a beautiful place, I been going to Sundara Inn & Spa for years, but there prices keep going up and when they have room rate specials always say it Booked when they just posted it on first day and I don’t believe that is true and just trying to get you to pay higher price for room, don’t offer a special if don’t honor it. Also when you talk to customer service, they are not professional anymore, very unfriendly. love the place but should be welcoming, just don’t feel that anymore.

Not happy for the price, no seats at pool. No towels in women’s locker room. Good massages but very pricey. Poor service at pool, bartender gone for a long time. Not able to order food at 3:45 pm service closes at 4 after bartender gone for a long time.

Out annual Girls weekend. I’m glad we picked slower time of the week otherwise you can tell it gets way too crowded and busy to enjoy the amenities. Nice room, room service just ok. Definitely will go back to enjoy quietness and serenity this resort has to offer. Not impressed with the spa services. Definitely will skip on that next time.

I had a great time with my friend using the facilities; especially the bath ritual. We used the hot tub and the cold soak multiple times and felt refreshed and detoxed afterwards. My salon technician, Olivia, did a great job with my pedicure and I really enjoyed working with Chi Chi at check-in and checkout. She was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I had an amazing experience!

I spent two nights here on a solo spa getaway to celebrate the release of my new book, Street Fight: The Chicago Taxi Wars of the 1920s. Unfortunately, my hotel stay was extremely disappointing. Here's why: * Was told I could have an early check-in over the phone; when I arrived, no rooms were available. * Room was dated; jacuzzi tub leaked. * Found a sopping wet (dirty?) towel in the bottom of the tub when I went to take a bath that night. Decided to wait until the next day for housekeeping. * Did not receive housekeeping services the next day. *When I called and requested housekeeping services that evening, two men showed up to do only the most cursory cleaning. Said they would send maintenance to fix the tub. No one came. * A small thing, but annoying: there was no regular coffee in the room: only decaf. I had to call and order room service coffee in the morning. Despite the extremely disappointing hotel experience, I did very much enjoy my spa day at Sundara Spa. Though it was a bit crowded (as others have mentioned), it was still very pleasant. I definitely would avoid it on weekends/holidays due to crowding concerns. But I had a nice massage and a just-ok facial and really enjoyed the purifying bath ritual and the several hot tubs (both the indoor ones and the outdoor ones.) I also attended a wonderful meditation class. All of my meals from the resort restaurant were very good. Service throughout the resort was mixed: I had some really lovely, attentive service and some very stressful/overwhelming interactions (particularly upon check-in and at the end of my facial when they try to upsell you products.) Overall, I would absolutely skip the hotel (stay elsewhere!) and just do a spa day here.

We've stayed at Sundara before and have always tried a new room style each time. For this stay we did the brand new Vanya Reserve rooms with the private outdoor 'hot soak,' aka hot tub. Let me tell you, that was a magical feature to have and we absolutely loved it! That made the room, and our stay, and was the main reason we didn't end-up spending any time in the larger outdoor pool/hot tub (also it was crazy-busy the first night we were there) and, while we normally adore the salt water pool and hot tub, the water temp was rather chilly in both. This also made us thankful for the super toasty, private hot soak in our room! We did do the ritual once, which is always nice. With that, I will say we stayed in one of the eight (8) new rooms of this style, so we were a HIKE from the main area (all indoor, but a long walk). As someone with an interior design background, one of the unique features of Sundara that I truly appreciate is the lack of 90-degree almost everywhere; however, these new suites/the new areas, it's full of 90-degree angles. The only curves are a blip above each door and tile, glass, or wallcovering, but nothing structural that carries through that design continuity. To me, it was very obvious this place is no longer a boutique-style stay, but now owned by the Wilderness Resort and trying to quickly put-up new, pricey rooms to bring in the dollars. This room style also isn't very 'cozy,' as it's more suited for groups, so several sofas (4) with VCT type flooring. We always order pizza in from Moose Jaw, highly recommend if you haven't had it. The facial services always end-up being our favorite, so highly recommend those (they use Eminence brand products if that's of-interest to you). We also ordered room service on this visit and that was delicious and delivered in 20-minutes. The Woodland Reflection Room was in our wing, passed it on our way to the main building, and that was nice to stop into. They had citrus iced water at the waiting, plus a wall of windows where they have bird feeders set-up, plus it looked like some deer food, so the deer, variety of birds, squirrels, etc. were there every morning and they can't see you, or don't react, even if you're next to the tinted windows, so you can get up-close. A lot of available activities also take place in this area.

We had a very enjoyable stay. We spent 3 nights enjoying the classes they had to offer. All of the instructors were very friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant was fabulous, the menu is limited but a very nice presentation. The bath ritual is always the highlight!!! That alone will take you to another dimension. If you have never taken a swim outside in the winter, it is something I would recommended doing. It is supposed to be an electronic free resort, if they enforced that it would be awesome. When we first started going to Sundara they monitored it, now it isn't uncommon seeing people talking, taking pictures and checking their phones. The only downside is if you do encounter an issue with your stay. They may fix it, but always with the under tone that it was your fault. Or they blame it on new staff not being trained. I would hate to work for management that would use staff as a scapegoat. Would be much better if they praised in public and criticize in private. We were told they are under new management hopefully there will be some positive changes. Would we stay again? We have one more stay and hope it will be the experience we remember from our first stay.

I wanted to go to a full service spa, and after much research, I chose Sundara as it was a reasonable distance from home. The reviews were very mixed, so after my 1st hand experience, this is my review: 1. I agree with most reviews that the rooms are slightly overpriced, but the bathrooms are amazing with excellent showers, water closets, and plenty of towels. I would stay at least 1 night for the experience, but then use a day pass if you wanted to use the amenities for more than 2 days. 2. I would bring your own shower shoes. The ones they provide are the most uncomfortable I've experienced in any spa I've been to, and depending on what kind of room you book, the walk between the room and amenities can be long. I did see others in their own shoes. 3. The body treatments are nice, a truly relaxing experience. I agree with the other reviews that the pedicure is NOT WORTH IT. I've had way better for a LOT less at every nail shop I've been to. I would suggest taking that money and using it on an additional body treatment. 4. I saw a lot of reviews saying the restaurants food is really good. I disagree to a large degree. The food is mediocre at best and definitely not worth the healthy price tag. 5. An automatic 20% gratuity charge is added to your purchases, so when you look at the price of anything, go ahead and calculate the added 20%. For the messages, I definitely agree with that, its a load off having that part already done for you, but the restaurant service was nice but not super attentive and if you're keen on ordering lots of drinks while your there it will add up quick. 6. The pools and relaxation rooms are really nice. However, It got really packed to the point where I couldn't find a seat for me and my husband. The Purifying Bath Ritual was awesome, but the area is too small for the number of visitors, even on a week day. The cold soak, which is part of the hot and cold soak alternate process, was too small to accommodate the volume of those in the hot tube. Overall, I had a great experience, and Im glad I went and would recommend it to others with the knowledge of what's in my review and others.

This site is a true gem in Wisconsin dells this place is great for those who enjoy relaxing and the whole spa treatment the ambiance is serene. The dining options are superb. The room has modern amenities and was very comfortable. The swim up bar was a great feature and offered refreshing beverage options. The outdoor water area was open all year and was heated and had fire places built in. We will definitely be back.
