We've stayed at Sundara before and have always tried a new room style each time. For this stay we did the brand new Vanya Reserve rooms with the private outdoor 'hot soak,' aka hot tub. Let me tell you, that was a magical feature to have and we absolutely loved it! That made the room, and our stay, and was the main reason we didn't end-up spending any time in the larger outdoor pool/hot tub (also it was crazy-busy the first night we were there) and, while we normally adore the salt water pool and hot tub, the water temp was rather chilly in both. This also made us thankful for the super toasty, private hot soak in our room! We did do the ritual once, which is always nice. With that, I will say we stayed in one of the eight (8) new rooms of this style, so we were a HIKE from the main area (all indoor, but a long walk). As someone with an interior design background, one of the unique features of Sundara that I truly appreciate is the lack of 90-degree almost everywhere; however, these new suites/the new areas, it's full of 90-degree angles. The only curves are a blip above each door and tile, glass, or wallcovering, but nothing structural that carries through that design continuity. To me, it was very obvious this place is no longer a boutique-style stay, but now owned by the Wilderness Resort and trying to quickly put-up new, pricey rooms to bring in the dollars. This room style also isn't very 'cozy,' as it's more suited for groups, so several sofas (4) with VCT type flooring. We always order pizza in from Moose Jaw, highly recommend if you haven't had it. The facial services always end-up being our favorite, so highly recommend those (they use Eminence brand products if that's of-interest to you). We also ordered room service on this visit and that was delicious and delivered in 20-minutes. The Woodland Reflection Room was in our wing, passed it on our way to the main building, and that was nice to stop into. They had citrus iced water at the waiting, plus a wall of windows where they have bird feeders set-up, plus it looked like some deer food, so the deer, variety of birds, squirrels, etc. were there every morning and they can't see you, or don't react, even if you're next to the tinted windows, so you can get up-close. A lot of available activities also take place in this area.
