Hotel in zona Plaza Infante Dom Henrique, Lagos

Lovely spot in Lagos.Been here a few times and now won't go anywhere else. Rooms are nice.Most have a kitchenette .Choice of views from the rooms. Pool is nice. Staff are nice. It's a great location by the Marina but only a short walk from town.So easy access to bars by Marina and restaurants in town.

Posto molto bello e super comodo per visitare le spiagge limitrofe più rinomate. Si trova in una strada molto affollata per il parcheggio durante la giornata perchè le persone vi lasciano le auto per andare in spiaggia ma noi non abbiamo mai avuto problemi. Si parcheggia in strada di fronte all'hotel. Hotel molto bello e pulito. Stanza grande con terrazza comoda per mettere i costumi ad asciugare. Bagno abbastanza grande. presenza di cassaforte. Ci sono vari appartamenti e 3 piscine non molto grandi di cui una privata di un appartamento. Location con verde, fiori, palme. Colazione super fornita con un un pò di tutto, fresco, pulito e continuamente rifornito. Dal dolce al salato in abbondanza. Super consigliato questo hotel.

Please be careful with what kind of accommodation you book, I made the mistake of booking a “twin room” for my elderly parents, it was the most basic of rooms and the only outside space was a tiny triangle of patio at the front of the flat (see pics) my parents had to ask for seats so they could sit out there. Again this is my fault NOT the hotel but I thought I needed to add this in for people who might be thinking of booking the budget room. Cons - The restaurant - if you want to eat at the restaurant you won’t be able to see what’s available on the menu until you have been seated, which can lead to embarrassment if like myself you're allergic to onions and everything on the menu seemed to contain onion so I had to get up in front of everyone and explain to the staff why I was leaving! I asked if there was an alternative which there was but was told if I wanted this I had to pay, having already paid for half board accommodation I found this to be very unfair as it’s an allergy not a choice.! I would suggest that in future to save any embarrassment you would put up the evenings menu where people can make a choice before entering the restaurant. The room itself was very basic no kettle meaning no options to make yourself a drink when wanted. The shower screen was leaking, had someone come out to fix this twice but it was still leaking and so had to keep putting towels on floor. No shuttle bus from hotel to town/beach as advertised on their website. Apparently it finished at the end of their season which isn’t what it said when I booked the holiday and the hotel was fully booked so really can’t understand why it wasn’t running. As other people have stated in these comments the pool chairs were filthy there were some really awful ones full of black stuff!! Pros- A choice of 2 swimming pools, the complex as a whole was very nice like a little village. The reception staff were very helpful and polite.

Can't tell you how amazing this hotel is - we go to it every 6 months. I wouldn't go anywhere else now. Im ridiculously fussy and drive myself mad to be honest, I've always had issues with my childs health from he was little so we have always needed to bleach everywhere and travel with Dettol wipes and anti- mite plug ins and goodness what else but I have come to learn that i dont need to do this in this hotel, you could eat your dinner off the floor as we say in Belfast. We took my pops away this time with us because unbelievablyhe has never had a foreign holiday, and he's nearly 70 years old - he was blew away. Food is amazing - My son Jack has ADHD &Autism, and he is extremely fussy about his food, what it looks like, what it feels like, the textures, the colours. It's a nightmare, but he loves the grub at Vila Galé. There's never an issue. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, pool bar, Alá Carté restaurant, ”The Masafina”. There is so much to choose from. My daughter Annie loves the food too, she's usually eats like a mouse but eats like a horse when we stay here, haha. There's nothing better for a parent in my humble opinion, to see your children sitting down to lovely big plates of healthy food from all different continents. There's a spa, 3 different steam rooms, massage rooms, yoga room, a big Gym, jacuzzi, large heated indoor pool, tennis courts, golf course, splash pool Park especially for the children(and big kids ie: adults haha), volleyball pitch, football pitch, table tennis, adventure park, big trampoline (which is really good fun), fruit tree orchards, herb gardens, pool tables, darts tables. There's things I will be leaving out because they weren't as important to us. This hotel works hard for conservation, they grow their own fruit. There's olive trees everywhere all over the hotel grounds too. The grounds that surround the hotel span a couple of miles- it's a beautiful walk. Obviously they have an outdoor pool too, but you see it in the brochures and yes, it really does look that stunning. I should probably mention that the pool bar don't just do ”run of the mill” food- we are all vegetarians so we always get stuck with things that way. They do the most gorgeous veggie wraps, salads, veg burgers etc. The pool bar menu is stunning. The ice cream is Carté Ďor and they have an amazing sugar free range as a family member is a type 1 diabetic, which has led us all not to take sugary drinks. The public toilets are always in immaculate condition, always spotless, shining, soap, toilet roll. No problems there. Rooms are lovely too. Housemaid are amazing and do an amazing job. The restaurant staff are amazing. The hotel staff at reception are great too. I hope this review helps, I highly recommend the Vila Galé Lagos, Preia Meia, Portugal. Its expensive in some peoples opinion but- to me I always believe you get what you pay for and if my children are looked after and happy, that's all I want. I'm 100% happy. Siamo visitatori regolari a Praia da Luz. Questa è la prima volta in questo hotel e siamo stati molto felici del nostro soggiorno. Abbiamo avuto una sala di vista premium sul mare con splendide viste sulla piscina e fuori dal mare. La camera era grande e abbondante di spazio di stoccaggio, il migliore che abbiamo avuto per molto tempo. Frigo funzionava bene, come ha fatto il con aereo. Free safe and pool towels. Comfortable bed. Room cleaned to good standard. Large and fluffy bath towels. Il cassaforte era molto piccolo, ma solo circa riusciva a adattarsi ai nostri iPad. Si chiuse con una chiave a differenza della chiave digitale, e la chiave della stanza era piuttosto timido anche. Non mi piaceva la tenda da doccia plastica. Il colazione era buono. Non una grande selezione, ma sufficiente. I panini e i biscotti erano deliziosi. Grande area di piscina, mai un problema di ottenere un letto solare in qualsiasi momento del giorno. Situazione dell'hotel molto tranquilla e tranquilla, ma è stato un salto forte dai ristoranti, negozi e spiaggia (tenendo presente che siamo nei nostri 70 con le ginocchia cattive), ma non ci avrebbe reso impossibile rimanere lì di nuovo. C'è un fermo fuori dall'hotel, ma fuori stagione gli autobus si fermano molto presto.

I would love to give this place a poor review to put people off going so I could keep it for myself but that would be doing the staff a real disservice. I can't fault this place at all- the place was spotless inside and out and the rooms were well equipped with fridge ,safe and air conditioning and lovely hot showers. The breakfast had something for everyone and changed each day. The staff are the real star of the show though and nothing is too much trouble. We mentioned we were looking for worry beads and the next thing we knew one of the waitresses at breakfast went across the street and brought back a selection for us to choose from and purchase from the shop opposite. Special mention to Ioanna who was so friendly and up for a laugh she really made our holiday. Great Central location but quiet with a lovely small pool and pool area. Can't wait to come back!

Assolutamente bella. Questo è l'unico modo che posso descriverlo. Prende il mio ragazzo lì come regalo di compleanno. Personale assolutamente carino, così utile e così autentico. Le camere sono magnifiche, abbiamo avuto una vista direttamente sul bar/pool fuori. Se la nostra stanza fosse pulita ogni giorno senza spot, non sarebbe stato male dire, anche il prezzo è affidabile.Se il personale ci avesse informato quando arrivava il nostro suffolo.Tutto era a posto. Non posso dire che l'unica foto che ho avuto è stata vista perché era buio, ma immagina quella vista quando era luminoso e soleggiato fuori.

Wow what a find. We just did a google search and found this place and took a chance. So glad we did. We had a 2 bed apartment and it was really spacious. Living/dining area, large kitchen, 2 big bedrooms with en suites and our bed was huge! A garden with terrace and a large balcony overlooking the pool. Staff super friendly and a shuttle takes you down and back from the beach as the road up is pretty steep but only a 15 min walk. The pool area was not that busy or noisy although, as you would expect, it was buzzing and lively. No annoying music playing or kids club type stuff thankfully. All very grown up but lots of families. Nice pool bar serving drinks and good food. Salema itself is beautiful and quaint and rustic too. The only slight gripe I have is that the kitchen is not that well equipped so if you have a large family and don't want to eat out every night this could be tricky. Also if you are a coffee addict like me, the apartment is only equipped with one of those Nespresso things which personally i don't like!!

We got a deal on this place so decided to take the gamble and go. We were not disappointed. We loved it. The place is in the middle of no where but that didn't bother us. There is a minibus service early morning and late afternoon but to be honest Uber is only 7 euros into the town. Fab pool area that wasn't crowded and loved the pool bar and eatery. The villa was up 3 flights of stairs but again that didn't bother us because the villa was massive and clean. The staff are also very nice and helpful. There are 2 or 3 bars a half a mile away and walking on an evening was a pleasure. We also walked to the beach which takes a good 30 minutes but we enjoyed the walk. There is a fantastic restaurant opposite the site gates and a fantastic restaurant on the beach, but beware, they are very expensive. You will struggle to keep a meal for 2 under 150 euros in either of them. The 2 or 3 bars nearby mainly do pizza and a pizza is circa 15 euros. This isolation of this place won't be for everyone, but we loved it and will be back.

Quiet, peaceful place but nothing available nearby except the excellent Quinta Dos Santos winery and restaurant - open 13.00 to 22.00. Our hotel room was clean and spacious and the staff really do try to do an excellent job. However the food is extremely disappointing and the only evening meal available is a buffet of mediocre, tasteless dishes. Two nights a week the restaurant is closed, one night Pizza is available and the other night Barbecue; if these are not to your taste you'll have to make do with bar snacks. It is mandatory to book a table for the evening restaurant but don't try and do this through reception, they will always tell you it is fully booked. However if you go to the restaurant personally most of the tables are free and you will be able to eat there. Apparently this is because a lot of ”all inclusive holidays” are booked there and so evening tables are prioritised for these people but most of them do not appear for dinner. Why reception is unaware of this none of the staff could explain. Apart from dining chairs at the Pool Bar and loungers round the pool there are no comfortable seats available. Certainly not one of the better places I have stayed in.
