Chalten Camp

We had an incredible stay at Chalten Camp! From the moment we arrived the team was so welcoming and made sure we had the best stay. Every single person was friendly and sincerely wanted you to have the best experience. It was our first destination in Patagonia and they made it tough to leave! The domes are super comfortable and I highly recommend going for one with a view - you will not regret it! The sunrise is unbelievable!! Our first night was a bit cold, and the fire does run out overnight. But They give plenty of logs and its easy enough to get it going again. The food was also amazing, honestly much better than I had been expecting. I would go back for the food alone! I had also injured myself just before arrival and the whole team was so caring and did everything they could to help me, including booking a massage for me in town right when I arrived which totally saved the trip. The camp is a bit outside of town, but cabs are easy enough to call and they will help arrange it without issue. So glad we stayed here and cannot wait to come back!! We also booked transfers with WOW Viajes to and from Calafate and they made the trip super comfortable and seamless. Definitely recommend using them as well!

The location is truly fantastic, and the domes are beautiful! While communication, food (at times), and service could be improved, overall, it was good. It would be great if transportation were included in the rate, as getting there by foot isn’t practical unless you’re up for an hour-long walk each way.

The experience at Chaltén Camp surpassed our highest expectations. The domes were wonderfully cozy and the staff has thought of every single detail to make your stay unforgettable. The meals were a reflection of the best Argentine selections and the staff shared their favorites. They were so kind to chat with us and share their beautiful culture and history. There was also an aspect of privacy that made it perfect for any kind of traveler whether needing time to meditate and reflect or share some romantic and intimate time together. We chose to have a very small and private wedding ceremony. We didn’t even tell the staff-we just asked for an internet connection. When we shared why we needed it, the staff quietly assembled a bouquet of wildflowers, prepared a wedding cheesecake, and even set up a beautiful table and chairs. They left us beautiful messages and champagne in our dome. I just can’t describe the love and support we felt from people who didn’t have to do anything at all. We will be returning for anniversaries in the years to come. The location can’t be beat. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this glamping experience and the staff’s service and kindness.

Perfection. A truly unforgettable experience. The camp is perfectly located in nature for those seeking tranquility and a base for hiking and birdwatching. The staff are absolutely exceptional, in particular Paula, Valeria, Florencia and Javier, who made every effort to make our stay special. The rooms were very comfortable and cosy with wood burning stoves, extra duvets and pillows and incredible views of Fitzroy. I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough.

Experiencia maravillosa. Hotel muy especial con un trato inmejorable. El staff un 10! Trato increíble y las vistas del Fitz Roy espectaculares. Nos ha encantado todo. La comida buenísima y las chicas súper atentas. Muy recomendable. Repetiremos seguro!
