A very traditional place with friendly staff. The food is akin to home food. Overall a value for money

Sitting at an elevation of 9,600 feet above sea level, Modern Residency is deluxe property that is perfectly secluded for a much needed break from the busy life. Lachung has been described as "most picturesque village of Sikkim" by British explorer Joseph Dalton in his book The Himalayan Journal.
One of the best resorts in Lachung provides the comfort of modern hospitality in each of its Deluxe Rooms. The rooms are well furnished and spacious. Contemporary dcor with fluffy beds and neat furnishings, and all basic amenities, makes for a comfortable stay and relaxing experience. The room offer a fantastic view of the mountains all around the property.
Lachung is blessed abundantly by nature snow clad mountains, pristine waterfalls, clear streams and vast fruits orchards. The mountain village is also home to the famous Lachung Monastery, Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary and the base of the Rhododendron Valley Trek. About an hour and half away from Lachung is Yumthang, known as the Valley of Flowers.
