Hotel in zona De Generation en Generation, La Rochelle

Really was a teeny, tiny room and sleeping in a cupboard describes it extremely well, having said that it was ideal for a quick one night stay for 2 adults, don’t think I would like to have stayed any longer as not much storage, but the storage they had was quite effective. The bed was large enough and very comfortable but as someone said, the mattress protector was very cheap quality and made the bed so very hot, also the air conditioning was not that brilliant but it had been in the high 30 at the time of our stay so may have been that the air con could not cope with the heat. We actually slept on top of the duvet, solving the problem of the hot mattress protector and used the bottom sheet as a cover. Ibis really could do with sorting this problem out as it is not ideal. We felt the hotel was in a quiet position, felt safe and we did not have any problems with noisy street noise or noisy neighbours. The shower was very good. Not a lot of street parking but we managed to get in and it felt quite safe to leave the car, worked out at €4 for 2 hours and free between the hours of 12-2 and 6pm - 9am in the morning, free all day Sunday. There is one delivery space that you can pull in at for 10 mins if dropping luggage off and if available, but bare in mind this is a one way street so you can not block it with your car for unloading purposes. The Verdun car park is quite close by, maybe a 5-10 minute walk and apparently only €1 for the day at the weekend. The day we arrived it was torrential rain so we were glad of the street parking. Did not have breakfast as lots of bars and boulangeries nearby. Check in and out was 12pm. The staff were friendly and helpful, they also have luggage storage. One tip, just be careful with travel adaptors, the charging points are sort of upside down behind a kind of light baffle affair and very easy to unplug your devise and leave the adaptor behind….anyone wanting one you will find ours in room 107!

Ottimo! Il servizio è sensazionale bene. Le camere sono pulite, abbastanza grande con piccola cucina e frigorifero. La piscina è molto mantenuta e c'è un bar in piscina. Il giorno più caldo dell'Europa, questo hotel è stato il nostro salvataggio. Abbiamo avuto un problema con l'auto il personale era super gentile e ci ha aiutato a portare la nostra auto fino al garage. Il bar è ben dotato e si ottiene anche informazioni professionali per bere. Abbiamo utilizzato il sito di benessere con sauna, sauna a vapore e massaggio. Ci sono state solo esperienze positive. Il personale è tutti in singolo modo multilingue. Ottimo! Ci piace tornare. 

We have stayed at Le Masq since pretty much the day it opened . Its as good now as the very first time we arrived . Attentive staff , clean crisp rooms and smiles all round . Pretty sure it did meals other than breakfast when we first visited and over time but maybe wrong . The hotel is a credit to all those involved . Wouldn't and haven't stayed anywhere else in LR why would I ! Here's to our next visit which would be No 9 or 10 or maybe more Well done everyone

In generale, è molto buono, la reception è responsabile!La gestione dell'hotel è molto perfetta. La porta si chiude la notte. Deve aprire la porta con la password in una scheda di cartella. Mi sento molto sicuro; l'hotel e la stanza sono puliti!La città è molto bella, 15/20 minuti a piedi o bus al mare, vale molto la pena andare!

Very nice hotel, in a quiet area, 10 minutes walking from Vieux port! Near the Gabut area, the Aquarium and the Musee Maritime! You could find free parking in the surrounding streets! Very good value for money also. They have a very nice initiative with housekeeping. If you stay more than two nights, every day you skip the housekeeping you get a free drink per person, such as a draught beer, local wine, tea or coffee at the hotel bar! Also they have a good water dispenser where you can refill your bottles every day with cold water! Their breakfast was quite good, with nice bread, nice crepes and all the basics of a typical french breakfast! The only thing they lacked was some fresh vegetables such as a tomato, a cucumber or a lettuce and fresh fruits. The quality of the coffee could also be improved. Rooms were spacious and the bed was comfortable with two pillows each. The only thing is that the carpet gives the room a dusty smell. Overall very good for its place and price, with friendly staff!

Arrived after cycling in the rain for most of the day so we were a bit dirty. The reception staff were not very welcoming and made me feel uncomfortable. The secure bicycle parking was outside in the car park and not even under cover. Whilst the room was nice and the bed comfortable the shower was poorly designed. The shower cubicle was tiny and the doors opened inward so getting in and out was difficult. The vent was in a cubicle next to the shower and did not do anything to remove steam. There was black mould on the ceiling above the shower and the tiles had been painted and this was peeling off. This is a very overpriced hotel for what it offers, there are other hotel chains that offer better quality and better value for money. It is located about 1.5 kilometres from the old town and there was nothing close by.

Cet hôtel nous a agréablement surpris . Pour commencer ,son emplacement est idéal ,en bord de mer . Nous avions choisi pr booking une chambre pour 2 personnes avec un grand lit. Sur place ,j’ai demandé au personnel s’il était possible d’avoir une chambre avec 2 lits . On a répondu favorablement à ma demande en me surclassant . Le personnel est vraiment au petit soin. Les chambres sont parfaitement bien équipées,seul bémol s’il faut en trouvé un c,est la moquette dans la chambre pas vraiment propre. Le prix est attractif. 111 euros pour une chambre 2 personnes dans un très bel hôtel bord de mer. Les petits déjeuner sont servis jusqu’à 10 H Étant des couches tard ,nous ne les avons pas testé mais ils sont au prix de 17,50 euros ce qui me semble cher. Je mets en avant le personnel,sympathique,compétent et sérieux Sans aucun doute ,nous y reviendrons
