Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo, México

Had a wonderful experience at the relatively new Four Seasons Tamarindo in southern Jalisco near Colima on the Costalegre. One of the most beautiful settings - hotel and region. Highly recommend a getaway here!

We stayed here for 4-nights under travel industry rate. The rooms were beautifully appointed but some had absolutely zero privacy no matter what you do (ex. bathrooms have no window treatment). There is no swimming beach in the entire property and service was all over the place, probably the worst FS service I’ve experienced, with absolutely zero service recovery. Rooms were never clean enough, items in room never replaced. In fact our laundry basket was never emptied the entire stay. Few could speak proper English. Staff got our instructions wrong even though they were already typed into the app. Only F&B got it somewhat right, but there was no buffet breakfast on one of the stays and they didn’t offer anything to compensate like other hotels do (ex. order whatever you like and will deliver). If you don’t check, they overcharged a lot of things. Also, we had to leave early and asked for a breakfast box and they also charged us for this. This hotel is beyond ridiculous and I would never return or send anyone here. In fact it was so bad that I stopped my subscription to GG who highly recommended this place. I wasn’t going to right a review out of decency since it was under travel industry rate, but their gift shop also sells a load of crap! My daughter purchased a T-shirt where the seams completely came off after literally one wash and they insist that it’s dry clean only despite no washing instructions and it being a basic tee. Even H&M has better quality. This was one of my worst experiences ever in over 63 countries. Complete waste of time, money and effort.

We stayed at the FS Tamarindo from 8/10 - 8/15. It was incredible! Service was amazing, food was very good, and the physical resort was flawless. Very beautiful and private. We were there during the hottest and wettest time of year and it was still perfect. I recommend spending the extra money for an ocean view as view is stunning and you see the sunset every night. Golf course is awesome too. Do yourself a favor and visit this resort.

The Four Seasons Tamarindo is an architectural marvel in a 3000 acre nature reserve. We traveled during off season, when it was hot and humid, and loved it. The hotel was not full. Restaurants were superb and varied. Three main pools allowed 20 somethings privacy, while 7 twelve and unders cavorted in the giant kids' pool. The beach was hit by a summer squall and swim shoes helped us get into the really warm water, but it was good to mix up beach and pool. Boariing, golf, and next year, tennis, Padel, and Pickle ball are all available. The pilates, workout rooms are beautifuilly outfitted and the spa has all you could ask of any first class resort.

This is a beautiful location with gorgeous beaches, fantastic property with unbelievable views and an amazing beach and rainforest. Staff was unbelievably friendly, professional, and accommodating. This was our first family trip with our one and a half year-old and they made it seamless. The kids club and staff were very entertaining and the kids named it one of the best trips they’ve been on Most of all the staff were amazingly kind attentive, and were excellently led by Sergio, the resort manager

We had an incredible stay at the hotel - the people, the property, the experience were all world class - amazing attention to detail. Food at Sal was just fantastic! Thank you Francisco (Pacho) for being an outstanding host (cart, doctor for my wife etc.). Shower pressure was variable, but now I'm nitpicking! I would NOT recommend booking diving through the hotel, poor experience and way over-priced. Everything else was essentially perfect!

We stayed 8 nights in a Cliffside Suite. The room was gorgeous with amazing ocean views. The room was perfect for our family of 4 with 2 children. The kids slept on sofa bed which was very comfortable. The pool in the room was heated and we made good use of it. The property if very remote, once you are here, you are here for the duration of your stay. We stayed for 8 nights and that was too long for us. This is a place that you come to relax and unwind. Each day we did one of the activity on the schedule that lasted for 1 hr and the remainder of the day was left to sit by pool or beach. Pros: -beautiful brand new property -friendly staff -large rooms with amazing views -pool staff were great, attentive -great housekeeping Cons: -not enough food options (we eat mainly vegetarian so really struggled to eat here, food was very repetitive, we did not look forward to meals much at all)-the few vegetarian options were good but we felt like we were eating the same few dishes every night to 8 days straight -kids portions are tiny, needed to order 2 for each of our 8yr old children to be satisfied, the food on main menu was not very kids friendly -no store for amenities on site, we just assumed that we would be able to replenish our incidentals on property but that was not an option -unfortunately we do not speak Spanish, English was a challenge for some on staff which lead to some confusion at meals -for a longer 8 night stay we wished there was more to do since off property excursions were not an option This is a beautiful property and that needs some time to reach its full potential.

We went to the Four Seasons Tamarindo to celebrate both my birthday and our wedding anniversary. The staff truly went above and beyond to make us feel special! Our cliffside room was spectacular, and the staff had decorated it with happy birthday balloons, plus a birthday sign, card and dessert. On our wedding anniversary, we were treated to a complimentary dessert and drinks. The cliffside room is absolutely phenomenal with a private heated lap pool, and both Valentino and Samantha from the front desk provided exceptional service. Sure, this property opened just a few years ago, so there are some kinks to be worked out (for example, some of the staff seemed uncertain or didn't quite understand, and the phone reception in the rooms isn't very good), but these are just minor complaints because the place is stunning and most of the staff is doing very well to meet guests' needs and requests. They have a large menu of complimentary activities, and we highly recommend the reserve tour. You'll get to see lots of gorgeous spots with photo opportunities, local flora + fauna, and the tour guide is great (I think his name is Uriel?). The food was great -- we highly recommend Nachos restaurant for tasty tacos, salsa, guacamole, horchata. And we did the a la carte breakfast at Coyul, and really enjoyed the chilaquiles, as well as the egg breakfast, which comes with delicious toast + jam/honey. We stayed for four nights, and we'd love to go back someday!

This is one of the most beautiful resorts i have ever stayed at. We stayed in their cliff side suite and it was incredible. The staff was amazing and extremely helpful and friendly. It is a new resort and they are still working out the kinks, but i think the staffs willingness to take care of you and make sure your happy makes up for any hiccups you might encounter as they are learning how to be a 5 star resort. The golf course is beautiful and challenging with some amazing views. We started calling the drink cart guy Mr Jeeves, because every time we would start talking about how we are getting thirsty, he would magically appear. Traveling to and from the resort is a journey, but well worth it when you get there.
