Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo, México

Had a wonderful experience at the relatively new Four Seasons Tamarindo in southern Jalisco near Colima on the Costalegre. One of the most beautiful settings - hotel and region. Highly recommend a getaway here!

The Four Seasons Tamarindo is an architectural marvel in a 3000 acre nature reserve. We traveled during off season, when it was hot and humid, and loved it. The hotel was not full. Restaurants were superb and varied. Three main pools allowed 20 somethings privacy, while 7 twelve and unders cavorted in the giant kids' pool. The beach was hit by a summer squall and swim shoes helped us get into the really warm water, but it was good to mix up beach and pool. Boariing, golf, and next year, tennis, Padel, and Pickle ball are all available. The pilates, workout rooms are beautifuilly outfitted and the spa has all you could ask of any first class resort.

We stayed 8 nights in a Cliffside Suite. The room was gorgeous with amazing ocean views. The room was perfect for our family of 4 with 2 children. The kids slept on sofa bed which was very comfortable. The pool in the room was heated and we made good use of it. The property if very remote, once you are here, you are here for the duration of your stay. We stayed for 8 nights and that was too long for us. This is a place that you come to relax and unwind. Each day we did one of the activity on the schedule that lasted for 1 hr and the remainder of the day was left to sit by pool or beach. Pros: -beautiful brand new property -friendly staff -large rooms with amazing views -pool staff were great, attentive -great housekeeping Cons: -not enough food options (we eat mainly vegetarian so really struggled to eat here, food was very repetitive, we did not look forward to meals much at all)-the few vegetarian options were good but we felt like we were eating the same few dishes every night to 8 days straight -kids portions are tiny, needed to order 2 for each of our 8yr old children to be satisfied, the food on main menu was not very kids friendly -no store for amenities on site, we just assumed that we would be able to replenish our incidentals on property but that was not an option -unfortunately we do not speak Spanish, English was a challenge for some on staff which lead to some confusion at meals -for a longer 8 night stay we wished there was more to do since off property excursions were not an option This is a beautiful property and that needs some time to reach its full potential.
