We were kindly directed to Le Manoir by a friend of the owners Laurent and Thierry on a night when finding accommodation was proving extremely difficult. We were offered the Trophy Room with very little notice and Thierry kindly made us a restaurant booking in nearby Bonneouvre called Prieure des Gourmands where we had an excellent meal. The stay was was very enjoyable with a very clean and comfortable room. The croissants and bread for breakfast were also excellent with very good coffee orange juice and yoghurts. The candles were lit for our breakfast which was a nice touch. Thierry and Laurent are attentive yet discreet hosts and the 85 Euro charge for a night including breakfast is excellent value for money. Thierry explained the project that had been undertaken to turn this wonderful old building into Chambres d’hotes with future plans to possibly create a gite in one of the outbuildings. We bought a small souris to remind of us this very enjoyable stay.

If you are looking for a modern no character place to stay this is not for you. The owners offered a warm welcome, in very good English. They went the extra mile to help with somewhere to eat. The Manoir was purchased as a doer upper,this has been done to a very high level whilst maintaining the originality of the property. The room was excellent, with cotton SHEETS, not the ubiquitous duvet. The shower was hot and powerful. The breakfast was excellent, tea was served in a silver teapot, with leaf tea. This just shows the level of detail that the owners go to. Would we stay their again defiantly would we recommend it Oh yes.

Small, 2 or 3 rooms only. Two of the nicest people own/run it (Laurent and Thierry); one is an artist. They bought the building 3 years ago and are saving it. Everything is tasteful/elegant; nothing is too much trouble. All low key and comfortable. They sorted out a brilliant local restaurant for us; breakfast was simple and great. Just a fantastic place to stay when passing through. We would definitely return. Gardens are a work in progress but will be magnificent in about 3 years.
