Kyoto Taizaonsen Sumiheiryokan

First time coming here in Kyototango, the northern part of Kyoto. Quite a relaxing and tranquil place with nice views of the ocean. You can feel the enthusiasm and attitude of all of the staff here, from the staff guiding to the parking spaces, through the reception where you will be served with welcome drinks and sweet, and then they will guide you to your room with full explanation of all of the facilities provided in this hotel - the onsens, dining hall, reception lounge (where you can have free drinks of sake), another nearby lounge with magnificent view of the ocean where you can sit down and relax and having some sweet, snack and beer and wine, etc. Regarding onsens, there are 6 private onsens (5 free and 1 to be reserved with a fee) where you can experience. Highly recommended for everyone hoping for a relax and calm trip and stay here in Kyototango!

8年前によくリピートしていた大好きな宿だった。 5年前辺りから方針が変わったのか尋常ではない値上げに驚いていたのだが久々に行ってみたく、足を運んだ。 この価格帯でラウンジ飲み物は有料だし、トイレットペーパーはシングル、アメニティはビジネスホテル並のクオリティ。それからエレベーターはないまま。 以前は夕食の際のサプライズの一品、お手紙や写真のサービスなどに感動していたが、値上がりしてからは全く心に響くものがなかった… 昔のリピーターさんも同意見ではないだろうか。 二度とリピートはないだろう。 ちなみに以前は一番高いとされていた離れの半露天風呂次の部屋でも1人30,000ほどであった。サービスも料理の質も今と何も変わらないのに…とても残念だ。
