Russkaya Okhota Hotel

I had pending to write my comment a lot of time ago. We went there during World Cup 2018 (July 2018) (Warning: I was forced to change the travel date to be able to put my comment). Hotel and surroundings are really beautiful but what we do not like at all was to see several animal confined in cages in the yards, some of them were really thin and had a terrible sad look. We consider this completely unnecesary even there is a hunting field near there. I strongly suggest the hotel to avoid having those animals there in cages, it does not make sense at all.

We sometimes come here to have a bite to eat at the restaurant complex. It consists of several rooms of various sizes and design. It specializes in Russian cuisine and game dishes. You can try in different versions the meat of elk, wild boar, partridge, etc. Last time 4 years ago we were offered ear meat - moose meat stewed during the night in a Russian oven and pea soup with smoked boar. Both were delicious. They also brew their own beer and kvass. This time we came to have a snack with our son. Disorder… The roe deer salad is awfully salty, the oven dish - lamb with chickpeas is tasteless, although the meat is soft, the pizza is more or less. For all 1730 rubles. The waiter was not particularly polite. Measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19: there was no thermometry at the entrance, there was no requirement to observe social distance, there was no requirement to wear a mask, there were no hand sanitizers on the tables, and masked waiters. 4* only for an excellent area with a zoo and a lake.
