Doo Dee Boutique Resort by Swiss Chalet

I stayed for one night, but enjoyed my stay. The room is pretty good, the view from the window is nice. I really liked the bathroom which has a big opening in the ceiling, makes it fell like you're outside.

We stayed at the Doo Dee twice during our travels. The 1st time we stayed we were in a small bungalow type property to the left of the pool, number 8. Bed was a king size which was fairly comfortable. There was a small fridge & kettle in the room. I feel that the properties here need updating. The outside bathroom was an electric shower over a bath, with poor water power. Floors were soaking wet and lethal after a shower. The was a sink & w/c outside also. Whilst this is quite popular in Maldives, here it was very basic and not a comfortable experience. We were given a spray for the outside bathroom bugs. The pool is a good size but twice during our 1st stay were unable to get a sun lounger. The walk to nearest beach was 10-15 mins away. Unfortunately the steps had huge drops down to beach so we couldnt use this beach. We did do a boat taxi at the next beach to Railay which was stunning. The property is in a nice quiet area, only a 5/10 minute walk to shops, night market & restaurants. Staff at the Doo Dee were friendly & helpful. They allowed us to leave one case there when we left to travel to Koh Lanta for 5 days. When we returned for 2 days we had similar property but on the Right hand side to pool number 14. This had holes in the front door where u could see daylight through. There were 2 beds pushed together with a double matress topper on. The bed sheets didnt fit and we struggled to sleep. The outside bathroon again had a shower over the bath, the shower went from scorching to freezing. We did report this, but we were only there 2 days and nothing was done by the time we left. The bath was very marked & again i feel needs updating. The cleaners usually went into each room together in 3's or 4's, bathroom bins emptied and beds tidied. I felt that a mop would not go a miss. We had ants crawling in the bathroom and we were given a spray to deal with them. Lots of mosquito bites, but staff did try stop them by burning citronella wheels. 2 gardeners tidying the grounds daily sweeping leaves but the leaves did get everywhere. On the whole, great location, good staff. Definitely could be cleaner and rooms and bathrooms require updating. Bar and restaurant were good. We arrived evening time. A local singer was singing in the bar. We were asked instantly by him for a small beer and to put a tip in his box..not the greatest start after a very long journey ...

Had a wonderful stay here with family; we loved our individual bungalow beside the gorgeous pool, and enjoyed morning and evening swims. The beds were comfy, and the semi-outdoor bathroom was a pleasant surprise! Slightly out of town but only a 10/15 minute walk from the night market and then on into town.
