Weird experience at this property. I found all the properties in Thailand very friendly and accommodative except this. As soon as I arrived for check in, instead of greeting, they asked for passport and 200 THB as security deposit for the key. I was surprised asking the deposit for the key? They said they dont have any staff in the hotel after 10 pm, and if i need to enter hotel afterwards, I need to pay deposit for key to access the main gate. This was insane for me, as in hotel in pattaya asked for deposit for any damages I make, which made sense, however they considered as a tourist I may not have instant cash to pay deposit and allowed a smooth stay. But this hotel, when I questioned about the deposit for the key and said I do not have cash now, they took the main entrance key out of the key chain and said, I cannot enter the hotel. Upon further discussion, the guy at reception called the owner, even owner was not supportive and they both started yelling, which ignited me to yell back at them too. I asked them, let me check in get freshened up as I am tired from the travel, upon 45 minutes of tough talk, they allowed me to enter room and agreed to give me the key with condition I pay deposit next day first thing. Upon checking in at room, I found room setup different than the photo shown, mainly the bedsheets color which was very dark making the ambience dull. I requested if they can change the bedsheets to white as mentioned in the photos of the room. In response, they said the photo was from many years back, and they cannot change this for me and I can leave the hotel, if I don’t want to stay and they would refund my money. I did not at all expect this gesture from the owner and service staff. I asked to allow me some time to check if I can find another hotel at that time (8:30 pm). The support staff forcibly, took my luggage out of the room and asked me to leave immediately. I said, let me check other options if I can find, if not I will stay. The support staff, took the key off, and said all lights and ac will turn off in few minutes stay if you want to and was leaving. I had to shout at him as he took my luggages out of the room without my consent and I while I did not cancel my booking. I never said I will not stay, I had to tell them let me check other options when they said I can leave. After this heat moment, they started to say they don’t want me to stay there and I should leave immediately. In return, I said I cannot leave with my luggages on the street, and would call the police for this behavior. Finally, they allowed me to stay 15 minutes to check other options. Unfortunately, I could not find anything nearby to consider. As agreed, I came down to the reception with my luggages, and said let me walk nearby keeping my luggage at their reception to check any availability in neighborhood. This time the support staff was bit cool and gave some ideas to check x and x hotels nearby. Unfortunately, all were fully booked. The time was nearly 9:30 pm. I wasted my about 2 hours discussing, yelling and shouting, losing all my appetite for holiday plan. Ultimately, I was with no other choice than staying there. I stayed back. The room had ants everywhere in table in bed, and ac was making noise. The building was very old, with decades old doors and windows designs, mainly toilet door. The room I stayed was 62, top floor on the left. The good things were: it was in a good location and the balcony was very big, with nice view. Rest all were messed, including the behavior of support staff and owner, which is very rare in Thailand.
I strongly don’t recommend this property.
