Hotel in zona Tanjung Aru, Kota Kinabalu

I visited the hotel with my parents, my wife and my daughter. We stayed for four nights, checking in on 3rd May and checked out on the 7th. This is actually my second time visiting this hotel, the first time being 30 years ago, again with my parents. I had great memories as a kid so I was looking forward to this trip. The First night was great, had dinner at Coco Joe's and rested after a long trip. The Second day was fantastic, breakfast and dinner and Cafe Tutu, met a lovely dining lady named Rohana. During the day, we enjoyed the great activities of the Leisure Center. Friendly staff from there made the experience children friendly. And the icing of the dessert - the sunset parade, Jamie loves it. Housekeeping did a surprise heartwarming job, covering the lion doll of my daughter with a little towel on the pillow, very cute and thoughtful move. The Third Day we went out to town so didn't stay much time in the hotel. The Fourth Day, was quite disappointing to be honest. Housekeeping did not arrive in the morning when we were out playing at the pool. I understand as there are many rooms to take care of. We went back to the room to rest between 2-4pm, switch on the ”Do not disturb” button, and somehow housekeeping team arrived so they put a card to say they could not clean as we put up the do not disturb button. Fair enough, but again, there was five hours in the morning which they could clean the room. Leaving the room again at 4pm for activities, I called service center for housekeeping, switched off the ”Do not disturb” button and went out. We returned at 7:45pm, still there was no housekeeping. Frustrated, I called the service center again requesting for housekeeping, they replied they will check and follow up with housekeeping. Half an hour later, still no one turned up. Extremely irritated, I called service center for housekeeping again. This time, housekeeping finally arrived but our whole family were waiting for clean towels to have shower. VERY disappointing with the effecitivness of housekeeping and service center on this incident. On that very same day, I discovered a big crockcroach in the toilet, so I do have a big quetion mark on the housekeeping of this hotel. The day was worsen when we had dinner at Coco Joe's, where we wait for nearly an hour (from 6pm to 6:53pm) before we get all our food served. I did complain it to the manager when he came by, which he did apologise and waived our dining fee. Despite my disgrunt towards the long waiting time of the dishes, I would like to give credit on the manager (I think his name is Mr Kan?) in terms of how he managed the complaint. Overall, the experience is mixed. With friendly staff at leisure center + Cafe Tutu, good food but unreasonably long waiting time at Coco Joe's, and disappointing housekeeping after the heartwarming performance on the second day. The hardware of the hotel is great (view, pool design, restaurant seating) but our experience was mainly affected by the staff. On this ocassions, I would like to give commendation to the following staff: Rohana, Majid (both from Cafe Tutu), all staff from Leisure Centre (especially the two ladies and two gentleman hosting water polo and volleyball respectively), and Kan from Coco Joe's on complaint management. Please keep up on the good work you already have, and work hard on things that requires improvement:)

The unit which I stay in is quite spacious and the view here is good since the location is just beside the airport and please add some wardrobe because i don't know where to put my belongings. Swimming is awesome and it has a very nice view of Mount Kinabalu.

это самое лучшее место а котором я была… здесь прекрасно все, расположение близко к морю, высокий этаж и вид из окна, есть большой балкон, кондиционер, телевизор, фен (есть даже диффузор), утюг, номер очень просторный, большая удобная кровать и самые удобные подушки в моей жизни!! я советую всем побывать здесь если вы будете в кота-кинабалу. на крышу также есть потрясающий бассейн и «смотровая площадка», из окна и с крыши можно наблюдать как садиться самолеты. пожалуй единственный минус это отсутствие рядом продуктовых магазинов, придется идти минут 10. также порадовала связь с хозяином, быстро ответил мне когда я не могла разобраться с плитой и стиральной машиной и тд.

Hotel bellissimo vicino alla spiaggia e all'aeroporto. La stanza dispone di un grande spazio e una bella vista sul mare e sull'aeroporto. La piscina al tetto e il ponte dell'hotel sono amichevole al mare. È possibile vedere anche l'atterraggio e il decollo degli aerei. Il suono dell'aereo è portatile, ma l'isolamento sonoro può essere migliore soprattutto dalla camminata quando la gente cammina, chatta e bacia. Le strutture e la pulizia possono essere migliorate. Il bagno usato è stato lasciato nel gabinetto e non è stato fornito un nuovo bagno.

La stanza è grande e igienica, ma non c'è un pannolino, né un dente, anche se non c'è una reception, può essere unito al personale e il suo atteggiamento di servizio è buono.

Il posto è meraviglioso, la mia vista mattina da un bel balcone è impossibile catturare in una foto, l'odore di una ventola marina e i suoni degli uccelli in ogni parte. Le camere sono molto pulite e belle, catturano l'estetica della Kota Kinabalu. E' a pochi minuti dalla bella e grande spiaggia, è assolutamente un posto sottovalutato. Il personale è fantastico, mi hanno lasciato controllare in anticipo, e anche, c'è un deposito bagagli, così ho potuto portare un bagaglio al mio viaggio di partenza per qualche giorno. Inoltre, è vicino all'aeroporto, che è un plus se si prevede di viaggiare in Sabah con voli locali. Grazie mille per essere un buon ospite, O sceglierebbe questo posto di nuovo sicuramente! ☀️

Parking is easy.u don't have to go around looking for car parking.Beautiful view from rooftop n swimming pool.their staff really helpfull.thank you very much🫶 *may need to prepare a mop to wipe the wet floor in the kitchen (if the floor is wet after washing the dishes)🫶✌️

Overall, my stay at Megah D'Aru was enjoyable, offering good value for the price. It’s a great option for travelers looking for a comfortable stay with easy access to both the airport and the beach. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Kota Kinabalu who is looking for a simple yet satisfying experience.

The location was near airport . However the sound proof is not so good whole night plane landing and take off can be heard as the room in facing the plane runway . And the parking could be improve , we waited twice for them to repair the parking as other guest car as stuck and we unable to do anything and waited for hours . Luckily we able to get to airport on time
