We’ve just returned from a 12-night stay at Blue Lagoon Village and had a truly lovely holiday. We travelled as a family of four with two young children (ages 6 and 7) and found the resort ideal for a relaxed and fun family break. Rooms: We stayed in a two-bedroom swim-up pool room with a sea view, which was perfect for our needs. The children had their own single beds, and the bathroom featured both a separate shower and bath. A couple of things to be aware of: • The tiles outside are very slippery when wet — be extra cautious. • The shower leaks under the door. Placing two towels on the floor helps prevent it from turning into a mini swimming pool. The cleaner visited daily, making beds, changing towels, and cleaning the floors. While the fridge isn’t restocked with water, bottled water is easily available from any of the bars around the resort. Pools: Yes, the pools are a bit cold — but that’s to be expected given the climate and your body temperature. Once you’re in, they’re refreshing. The pools are clean, with plenty of loungers and several quieter areas if you prefer a more peaceful setting. Food: The food was fresh, tasty, and offered a good variety. It’s not silver service, but that’s not what you should expect from a large all-inclusive resort. We didn’t try the specialty restaurants (our choice), as the main buffet areas were more than sufficient. Staff: The staff are fantastic — friendly, hardworking, and always smiling. They do a difficult job and deserve respect and appreciation. Sadly, we witnessed some guests speaking to them very rudely, which was upsetting. Please remember they’re people too, doing their best. A simple smile and a kind word go a long way. Entertainment: The children’s evening entertainment was great for little ones. The later shows were a bit hit-or-miss, though we did enjoy the “Rock Journey” night. Daytime kids’ activities weren’t clearly advertised — we only found out about them later in the holiday via a small sign on a wall near the stage. One area the hotel could improve. As an active family, we started to feel a bit bored after five days due to the repetitive routine. This is more a reflection of our personal preferences than the resort itself. Activities & Facilities: There’s a tennis court, crazy golf, paddle court, and football area. Equipment requires a deposit (refundable if returned undamaged). Please return items promptly — we missed out on using some equipment due to others not being considerate with return times. Waterpark: The waterpark caters to all ages and was a big hit with our children. It was great fun to splash around and go down the slides together. One small downside — the large blue spiral slide could use some maintenance, as even the kids needed to push themselves down due to the weak water flow. Beach: The beach is quite pebbly, so water shoes are recommended. There are lots of loungers, though it can get windy — be prepared for a bit of sand exfoliation! Water sports are
