Blue Nest Hotel

Wonderful friendly hotel. Great service. Nothing is too much trouble. Large, spacious room, delicious food. Spotlessly clean. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Thank you to George who made sure we had everything we needed. 5 stars.

Really enjoyed our week At The Blue Nest they are the friendliest and helpful staff nothing is too much trouble The breakfast is typical Greek buffet which was lovely and plentiful - swimming pool Is big and very clean sunbeds are a bit dated - we had lunch a couple of times the food and drink was very good and reasonably priced The bedrooms are good size clean towels and bedding changed daily the bathroom could do with a refresh of the tiles in the shower however the room was cleaned daily. It is a good 35 minute walk into the town of Tigaki although there is a regular bus service and the walk is along the beautiful beach but to walk back at night it is dark and not many pavements we used to walk there and taxi or bus back

This was our 2nd visit to blue nest and yet again it did not fail to give our party such a wonderful holiday, they all go out of their way to give a brilliant customer service, any query or request was never to much trouble whether it was George the manager, Anna the housekeeper, Satiros and Sara at the bar as well as the back room staff we can’t speak highly enough they are the stars of this hotel. If a quiet peaceful hotel is your wish this is the place we never had to fight for sun beds regardless of the time of day, the food is very reasonably priced and plenty of choice, there are only a couple of Tavernas with in walking distance but for a more lively evening a short bus/taxi ride to Tigaki takes about 5-10 minutes, if you are adventurous hiring a bike is great fun especially as the coast roads are very flat it’s a great way to find less crowded beaches we 4 are all in our 60s and had no problems, evening entertainment at the hotel is low key but there is a Greek night and a 70/80s DJ night. We will be back.

I often peruse the reviews from other travellers on hotel websites, it helps my decision making, so this is going to be honest and may not be popular! The staff make this hotel. From the owner George to the cleaners we met in the mornings, always everyone had a smile and a greeting. Blue Nest is situated around 1.5miles from the ***** in Tigaki, a good 30/40 min walk into town, or a very good bus service only 7min walk away. 1.80 euro into the square, and 2.10 euro into Kos town. Taxi was 9 euro in evenings back from the *****. From the outset we knew this hotel was only a 3 star, so, although away a bit from central area, it was quiet and peaceful. The rooms.....we booked 2 bungalows, obviously we did not know how the set up was for these, in a group of 3 ladies, 2 had an upper floor, and I was placed on ground floor. As a single lady I wasn't happy, I couldn't leave door open at night for air, for security purposes, but that was not my only concern. The original room was very dark, had huge step down from bathroom into bedroom, the loo seat was wobbly, in bathroom, every time I took the towel from plastic hanger on wall the whole thing fell to the floor. But my biggest annoyance was when I found ants crawling over my toilet bag, and my toothbrush!. I also will say that after 2 nights in this room and speaking with george, I was moved to an upper floor, which was much more serviceable. My friends had an issue with their toilet pipe leaking onto the floor, which was a bit of a health hazard, after chasing a few times, within a few days, this was fixed eventually. I do think when the season is over, there needs to be some maintenance work within the rooms, the outside of rooms look fine, but some better management inside rooms where guests stay is very important. Breakfast options are very basic, diff cereals, watermelon for fruit, fresh baguettes cut into rounds, some fresh baked cakes, cheese/meat and few other bits. It was fine and kept us going. We prefer the beach to a pool and I knew before going we could use the facilities at Irina Beach hotel, just before the bus stop. There is a huge pool also, but also a great beach and we tended to decamp there for the day. Loungers free to use, (we paid 12 euro for 2 loungers/parasol on beach 1st day) and there is a lovely poolside place to get food and drinks. For us we preferred this outlook. To summarise, this is a basic greek hotel, run by delightful people who clearly want to make your stay enjoyable. We had a lovely holiday overall.

George went above and beyond to locate my phone and bank cards when I left them on a tour bus the previous evening. Words cannot explain how appreciative I was for his help. Thank you so much George. Anna and Katerina, your smiles lit up our day.

Am delighted to have spent a week at this little gem of a hotel. All the staff are friendly, helpful and hard working. The breakfasts are more than substantial offering a vast array of options. Perhaps a toaster would be an additional plus, but not compulsory! Our room was spotless, and the mattress and pillows had protectors!! It was cleaned most days (if not every day!) and clean bedding and towels were frequently changed. The pool area was lovely, and always sun beds were available. Sara was lovely and provided regular drinks and refreshments around the pool. The food was very good and reasonably priced with a varied menu. The evening bar staff were friendly and we always had a good laugh both on our way out for the evening and on our return. Yes, the Blue Nest is a tad off the main ***** but we liked this and opted to use the bus and taxi services. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, keep up the exceptional work George and Sotiris you're doing an amazing job!! Tracey, Jackie Bryan and Phil

What a wonderful holiday we have had! Blue Nest is nestled in a beautiful part of Kos, right by the beach with Mountain View’s. Rooms are basic, but have everything you need. What makes this hotel so special is it’s staff; right from the initial welcome we received, right up until we are about to leave (later today!) every single member of staff has gone above and beyond. Nothing is too much trouble. The bar staff are fabulous and soon felt like old friends, the menu is varied and well priced, should you need lunch or dinner too. The hotel owner and front of house staff have also been amazing - going so far as to drive us into town when a taxi wouldn’t pick us up for another 30minutes. We all loved this holiday so much (2 adults and 7 &5 year olds) and it was all due to this hotel. We can’t wait to come back!

Simply cannot praise this hotel enough, mainly through the continued efforts of the staff to make every aspect comfortable for us from our arrival, every night in the restaurant, looking after us when we were ill. Nothing is ever too much trouble.
