Just returned from 12 nights at the Lord Complex hotel in Corfu with our 2 small children. Firstly Roula (the owner) is absolutely lovely, she looked after us so well along with the many customers in her hotel. As previous reviewers have said, she just never stops (and never seems to sleep either!). She did everything we asked for our two children who were both sad to leave this lovely holiday. The pool is nice, plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas and no fights to reserve them (although people always will). The pool bar is great and we ate there during the day and in the evenings occasionally, and very much enjoyed the Mythos beers. Lots of Roula's family come and help out and it was lovely to meet them all. A few negatives about the hotel. We were in a 2 bed apartment near the pool which was great, the gardens outside our door were immaculate and the children loved looking at the vegetables growing the in the gardens. Both rooms were twin beds with the children taking the back room. The kitchen wasn't really big enough to cook in but we did have breakfast each day and utilised the fridge in the room and the two supermarkets nearby for cereal and milk. Roula made a cracking full english though and would make toast and jam for our children to keep them happy! The beds however were very hard and my back has taken a pounding this week. There is also quite a bad mosquito problem and I was bitten most nights so took to sleeping under the sheets (not the owners problem of course, but do take spray!). The AC you do have to pay extra for but it is worth it, and like previous reviewers they do leak outside and seem to have plastic bottles underneath them, so we were occasionally greeted in the morning by wet towels (which we left outside to dry). The play area is nice but could do with some updating and everything got very hot in the sunshine. I think someone painted the slide to stop it getting so boiling but my poor daughter basically crawled down it after the paint stopped the skidding!. The swings are quaint and there is a seesaw too. The atmosphere at the Lord Complex is great though, Roula will keep the bar open as long as there are people wanting a drink, and there were lots of different cultures in the bar where everyone is extremely friendly, made by the atmosphere from Roula and her team. We enjoyed a few beers, cocktails and glasses of red there most evenings. It is quite a walk from the hotel to the town though, but we used the red train a few times which stops on the main road and was about 13 Euros return. It doesn't seem to run to time though which was quite a challenge a few times. The walk was about 30 mins to the main beach with lots of bars and tavernas on the way. Heading away from the beach there are a few eateries, but definitely lots of empty old restaurants and empty building shells which is a shame. Highly recommend Oceana restaurant, Taverna Kafesas, Kazoos for Karaoke, and many places do nice beer. We also did a day trip t
