Nambwa Tented Lodge

This is the best real African bush experience you can have. Saw 4 of the Big Five. Lots of wildlife and birds. Food and accommodation out of this world. Sunset cruises on boat and vehicles an absolute must do. Keenan knows every birds name and the best host imaginable.

We stayed 3 nights here and had the best time. This was our second time to Namibia and we regret not staying here the first time too ! The staff are all incredibly friendly and nothing was too much for them - it was my dad’s birthday and they kindly made him a beautiful cake . The lodge is stunning and the views spectacular . The food was fantastic. We were suppose to do a bush walk but due to the high grass we could not but the lodge kindly offered us extra game drives in their vehicle or boat cruises instead . We saw some amazing animals both on the game drives and on the boat cruise . Ask for Bevan as a guide as he was fantastic for our entire stay , incredibly knowledgeable and really went above and beyond . We also loved having Em with us who was training to be a guide . Nambwa tented lodge is a very special place and we hope to return soon . Thank you to the whole team for making our stay so memorable .

The drive in can be a challenge so worth contacting in advance for the best route in as signposting is poor and conditions are constantly changing and we did encounter deep sand. Once at the camp the rooms are luxurious and tea or coffee can be delivered with a wake up call. The communal area is great with drinks by the fire and tables laid outside overlooking the game viewing area. Good buffet breakfast. Keenan was a great manager attentive and friendly

We highly recommend this lodge to all who are capable driving with a 4w car ;-) Staff very friendly and supportive, we liked the tends and the interior very much. Food was also great. Enjoyed the Game Drives very much. We would definitely stay at this lodge again.

The experience in the Caprivi was amazing. African Monarch Lodges; Nambwa Tented Lodge & Kazile island Lodge are the only lodges inside the Bwabwata National Park. What the Rogers family has done here makes a huge differenct to the lives of the people from the surrounding villages. A true sustainable project, giving back to the people. The charm of the staff at the lodge reflect the harmony in which the lodges, tourists, wildlife and local people can all operate in unison.

I would like to start positive with mentioning that the tent was beautiful and also the location. Everything is built on poles allowing elephants to walk underneath. For us it was the sixth in line of very luxurious accomodations. This one was the worst if we rate it on hospitality. The staff was untrained, besides during diner they did not ask for any drinks and it even looked like they would rather have a "break" from working. The food was not good and they gave us no choice between different meals (which all the others did). There was no minibar or coffee/espresso machine in the room, only water which was room temperature. We booked all inclusive, but afterwards we got the bill which included the espresso, cappuccino, some wines and licor although we asked the staff what was included during our stay. Nobody seemed to know afterwards. Of the including wines (about 8 of them) there were 2 out of stock. So we started with not much choice and ended with even less. The splashpool had two little swing benches standing in the sand with no sunbeds. Also no refreshments or poolservice at all. The towel change didn't happen also not after 2 days. They repetitly hung them up again, when we put them on the floor for changing. We had to ask 2 times for new ones before they delivered them. They were being washed? They said. Our ranger did her best and was fine but an intern with 2 months of experience. The manager Jan asked us after the first day if there were any problems. We told him but he didn't do anything about it. It seemed like the manager did not really care. We had a disappointing experience and want to warn people who are willing to spent around 1000 euro a night per room to not book this lodge. We booked two rooms for three nights and regret it. So long story short, this lodge isn't worth it!
