I recently stayed at Ethnotel Kolkata, expecting a comfortable experience due to its proximity to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, but unfortunately, my stay was disappointing. Rooms & Cleanliness: The biggest issue was the lack of cleanliness. The room felt dirty, with visible dust, stained linens, and an unpleasant odor. The bathroom was not properly cleaned, and there were signs of poor maintenance. Service & Staff: The staff was polite, but their responsiveness was slow. Housekeeping took too long to address cleanliness concerns, and overall service did not meet expectations. Dining Experience: The food was average, with limited options. Room service was slow, and the quality did not justify the price. Noise Levels: Being near the airport, the rooms were quite noisy, and the soundproofing was inadequate. It was difficult to get a peaceful rest. Overall Impression: While the hotel’s location is convenient, the dirty rooms and slow service made the stay uncomfortable. It needs better maintenance and improved service to justify its pricing. I wouldn’t recommend it unless cleanliness improves.

The Hotel cleanliness and service is terrible. When I enter the hotel the toilet was dirty with shits on the side. Beside my room was maintenance going on, the smell of the Glue for the carpet was so strong it was smoke in my room. My room was beside the main road, all night was sound of car passing by and also sunlight comes early as the window curtain does not stop the sunlight come inside.

Very nice hotel,it near the airport,but it is quite.I reach hotel very late for the next day fight. The room has big space and clean. Good service is as well

This was my 1st visit to Kolkata and as a solo Traveller on transit, it was the best choice to go with Ethnotel Hotels. Positives: -Close to airport. -24 hrs check in service -Great communication and follow up before check in and all updates - well informed friendly and polite staff - Awesome well lit spacious rooms. - yummy tasty food and desserts at reasonable prices. - good Indian and Continental breakfast in morning. - airport pick and drop services with courteous staff. - a bar lounge on 1st floor from 11 am to 1 am - awesome menu, including round the clock menu, kids menu and desserts Nd cocktails , cocktails so no one is left hungry at any given point of the day even if you check in late. - reasonably priced rooms. Sanitised after each use. - clean restrooms and spacious. - house keeping staff polite and courteous. - Green future messages. Cons: - not for people who smoke as they have no smoking policy - visitors not allowed which is mainly in most hotels in India. Overall a great experience, and would refer the recommend to all travellers looking for a place near to the airport.

Nice property. If you search for a hotel near the airport, that is the best choice with an affordable price. The rooms are small but good. They need to change the mattress cover in the room, so many spots are there. Ambiance is good and the receptionist, sourav and the lady staff, sreyashi, make my stay more comfortable. Their behavior is very polite and, being a person, they are very helpful. Their property is a non-smoking property. Being a smoker, I personally face a lot of trouble, but in another sense, if you think it's a good sign to reduce the habit of smoking. Apart from all that, I personally can't like their food. The quality of food is not up-to-mark as per its price and its standards. Prices are very high if you consider the quality of food and taste. Street foods are better than that. They need to do more homework to improve the quality of food and taste.

We had an overnight transit stay in this hotel being in close proximity to Kolkata airport, which is just 5-10 minutes away. The room we stayed in was ok, but the bed sheets and covers were smelling foul. Even though a placard was placed on the bed showing all sanitised, it was surely not. Food at a small restaurant was ok.

We were a group and had done a prior booing already. All details of number of person (13) with 4 room requirement was entered via agoda but reception at the hotel mentioned that it was done only for 4 persons and charged for the rest. To top it, hotel bedsheets had fresh blood stains which was really gross! Will not recommend the hotel to anyone especially since the staff at the reception were not friendly at all and yes, of course the cleanliness part which really takes the cake.

Preference was for hotel near airport. This hotel is bang on the busy road of Kolkata. Rooms are smaller and suitable only for one person per room. Somehow hotel is loved by north East Indians, south East Asians and Chinese folks. Ac was good. Shower was well quarantined. Overall Breakfast preparation was bit salty. May be chef can evaluate the reasons. On last day at breakfast I casually asked, why don’t they keep some Bengal sweet at breakfast?, as a delight, I was offered authentic jaggery Rosogolla!!

Not for families. It is Very spooky and dingy. There are Lots of other activities other than just sleeping.it is very Untidy. Worst & Rude waiters. My worst experience so far. Never recommend this place for anyone. Dirty bedsheets and toilets

The staff are friendly and always endeavor to do their best. In particular thanks to Bidhan da - you have been great and have cleaned my room everyday. The hotel is neat and clean and presentable. Thanks to all restaurant staff for their professionalism, timeliness of delivery and for the delicious meals. Again dont know everyone's names. Thank you to Dipankar da, Pallav da and everyone in the team. The drivers who picked and dropped me off to the airport were on time and helpful. Will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone.
