The Lofts Boutique Hotel

We had an amazing stay there. We stayed for two nights. The bed is big and comfortable. The staff all came singing with a cake for my husbands birthday! Nice view on the lake from our room and on the dek is lovely. Downstairs you can get some snacks and refreshments after hours.

BRILLIANT !! From check in to check out - the hospitality and service at this place was just top notch !! The food - a limited Menu - but amazing food. We visited Knysna in the first week of June with our three kids. The location is amazing, a short walk from Thessen Islands best bars and restaurants. The rooms - well appointed, super comfortable, ample space - we got the loft family room which was more than enough for the five of us. Alan, Dylan, Rashida and Luvo - I wish i remembered more names - but every one was just so nice and helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to make our three night stay that much nicer and memorable. I wouldnt think twice about booking here. Cant wait to be back - thank you Lofts !!

We travelled with kids - 2 couples - 4 kids, 13/13/10/10. We took the family lofts. The place is simply remarkable. From check in to check out, the food, the service, the staff - Alan, Dylan, Rashida and Luvo to name a few. - can’t wait to come back. Can’t get a better spot to stay at in Knysna !!! The greeting at check In, the rooms, the food, the whole ambience of the hotel. One of the baths in my room wasn’t working, the staff actually gave me an extra room - and said - all yours to use ! Anything we asked for was brought to the room within seconds. The kids just did not want to leave. I don’t have enough words to say what an amazing time we had at the property!!

A perfect experience, I really enjoyed it. Great beautiful room, kind people, cool restaurant and THE BEST breakfast. Very good location, nice food and an incredible view of the sunset. The only thing that I would change is the bathtub, not too comfortable for a shower.

23 of us went to the lofts last week. What a beautiful and unique hotel set in a great area. The service from Allan and the team was exceptional from organising restaurants (and walking us to it) to helping us plan a day despite the challenging weather! Thanks for making it memorable. I’d highly recommend the lofts to anyone.

I have stayed in numerous hotels but this is the first time that I have felt inclined to write a review: I enjoyed excellent personal service from manager Allan and friendly and efficient staff. Superb location and views. Highly recommended

We had a lovely stay but it is overpriced. The view is amazing from 1A We had a very unfriendly welcome from the neighbour when trying to offload our car. The extractor fan in the bathroom was filthy and there was an open unmarked water bottle with jik gel inside on the bad's edge which i unfortunately took a drink from.Please label bottles! Kitchen utensils,pots,plates etc not enough,maybe add more things if one is cooking for 4.

We had an excellent stay at this hotel. We have travelled all over the world and stayed at some top class hotels and The Lofts is just as good. Allan provides a wonderful service in a friendly, professional manner. He has a great knowledge of the local area and even arranged for us to have a late check out when my husband became ill. The room was spacious and extremely clean. It was lovely sitting in the bath watching the waves with a glass of wine. We would definitely recommend staying here. Thank you Allan.

Before I list my complaints I would like to say from the outset that management were aware of the issue but refused to speak to us when requested through Allan. Secondly, I rarely write a poor review as I’ve rarely needed to so please be assured these are genuine and frustratingly true issues- - To be balanced the location is beautiful, the conversion sympathetically done and the nest staff are wonderful. However - The hotel failed to notify us that the restaurant would be closed at 1900 in advance of our stay. We received the generic pre stay email which did not include any such detail, so we were able to make alternate arrangements. - The check in woman was rude, curt and threw a sheet of paper under our nose and got rid of us asap. Sadly this attitude continued through our hotel tour when we were not told of the hotels night entrance or how to access it. - We received a WhatsApp message at 1955 informing us that reception would close at 2200 with an emergency number should we need it - We returned at 2140 to find the doors locked and reception closed! Realising that there was a fob on the key we gained access to the main door. However could not access passed the passageway. - No worries, we called the Emergency number….it rang at reception and no one was there to answer it. - We had to go from restaurant to restaurant to speak to staff who might know the hotel staff personal contact details. Thankfully one did and it was only then that they informed us of a night entrance! - I received a curt WhatsApp message from reception the next day offering me assistance in how to use a fob if I’d like to pop by? No explanation as to why reception was closed early or why the emergency number was not available to offer assistance when we were locked out of the hotel - When Allan met us the following morning (he was the one, the bar staff tracked down) he stated that he raised this with management but we received no communication whatsoever. They appeared to hide behind their hardworking front of house staff rather than come and offer an explanation face to face. Communicating is key and this hotel failed in the basics to listening to their customers feedback. Personally, I would find somewhere less pretentious where customer service is a priority, because unless you fit their demographic, sadly you are not of interest to them. Utterly disappointed.
