Saremo stati sfortunati noi a capitare in due giornate di brutto tempo ma l’esperienza è stata scadente. In camera c’era odore di muffa e i pasti venivano serviti al freddo sotto un tendone plasticato tipo sagra di paese. Assolutamente sconsigliato d’inverno nonostante la posizione interessante.

Wow absolutely breathtaking beautiful venue with amazing rooms and Elmay and her staff is awesome Nihle helping in the reception and the young crowd on the activites! Mashie golf if your a novice or a pro it is so much fun, then if you just want to drink in the tranquility take a canoe and go for a paddle and just enjoy the abundance!! Will i go again absolutly!! Should you go? You would miss out on a expierience stay more than one day though or you will regret it

From the moment I arrived, I felt like I had stepped into a different world. The grounds are stunning, with rolling green lawns, vibrant gardens, and towering trees that create a sense of privacy and calm. The river, meandering quietly past the lodge, adds to the tranquil atmosphere and is perfect for those moments when you just want to sit back and breathe it all in. Every detail has been carefully considered, from the plush bedding to the little touches that make you feel right at home. Blackwaters River Lodge is more than just a place to stay—it’s a destination that stays with you long after you leave.

What a fantastic relaxing weekend. We enjoyed walking, canoeing and just sitting on picnic blankets by the river sipping champagne. We also had a lovely couples massage. All the staff were attentive, friendly and always available if you needed anything. We will definitely be back

My wife and I stayed for 5 nights here and everything was very enjoyable, very kind hosts and staff, including at the restaurant. On top of that, we were offered a free upgrade. Above all, the location is fantastic, in plain nature by the Goukama river and very close to the astonishing Buffels Bay beach. Highly recommended!

Thank you to the amazing Black Waters River Lodge staff who made our year end function better than we could ever have imagined. Stunning venue, but the willingness of the staff to help and go above and beyond was the exceptional part of the day. Loads of activities, great food, friendly staff, beautiful views. The compliments are never ending. Thank you !

Up front I must state that we have eaten at very many restaurants all over the world. 17 countries to be precise. This restaurant's food is the worst we have both ever eaten in our life. The worst restaurant in the world before this was a Mexican restaurant in Alaska. We came to this restaurant for lunch on the 11th November 2024. We were the only people there. I ordered an Eisbein and my wife ordered King prawns. There were six tiny prawns on the plate, ON TOP of the salad which was wilted and a mess. The prawns were overcooked but were not fresh. I could even smell them across the table. My Eisbein was rock hard, so I could not penetrate it. I eventually stabbed at it with a steak knife but the inside was so overcooked and dry that it was INEDIBLE . Also they had put the Eisbein ON TOP of my salad. The worst Eisbein on planet earth. We of course should have just walked out but we had a wonderful waitress, Cynthia, and we did not want to hurt her feelings. In hindsight we should have given her a handful of cash and left, but we sat there with our drinks which were good. I wanted the world to see this review but this restaurant is not registered on Hello Peter. To each and everyone out there, be warned. CLIFF NORMAN

We greatly enjoyed our mid-week stay at this cozy retreat whilst taking part in the Mid-Winter Trail Run in Knysna - great accommodation, in tranquil surroundings, friendly service, great company and dito conversations at the outdoors fireplace, whilst snacking on fresh pizza prepared in the wood fired oven and sipping sherry. We'll be back for more. Thank you Elmay and team.

We celebrated a 50th birthday at the lodge. It was absolutely amazing. The accommodation, the catering and the special care from the staff were much appreciated. Bonita and Antoinette went out of their way to make sure all our guests were well taken care of. I would most definitely recommend the Lodge.
