The Golden Pheasant

Really great experience. Karen in the restaurant was a star. Breakfast ends at 9am but she made sure the kids had something to eat despite us getting there a bit late. The rooms were warm and comfortable. And the vibe was classic. The fire was roaring and made the winter night awesome.

This is an absolutely beautiful pub! The staff are amazing and the breakfast we had in the morning was awesome. So tasty. Downside - I booked this a year in advance and would have expected to get the best price. We paid £140 and I have now seen prices as low as £90. At £90 I would have been happy with that but £140 is over what I am happy paying for the accommodation. I understand that this is an old pub but people coming back at 1.30 in the morning we could hear every word including the tv. Bathroom noises were also an issue and again this is the type of room book so can’t hold that against them. I just think the price was high for the comfort of the stay. Creaky floor boards and a small bed. My partner slept on the floor. The heat was also stifling. I would love to go back for food but wouldn’t recommend staying in the accommodation.

Stayed at the Golden Pheasant for two nights as we were attending a family wedding close by. Checking in was quick and easy and our rooms were ready when we arrived. All staff were attentive, professional and took time to talk to us and check everything was ok. The breakfast was great value for money. There are no lifts to the first floor bedrooms which could be a problem for people with limited mobility

Family party 18 people (5 children 13 adults ) The food was excellent good choices and everyone said how tasty. Nothing was too much trouble. The girls looking after us were friendly and efficient it was a busy night for them in the restaurant but they kept coming to us and asking if everything was ok. The children were happy playing outside and then coming back inside to eat and drink. Would recommend, we will definitely be back Thank you

This Pub is set in a lovely sleepy location, but only minutes from major roads. The staff are both professional and friendly. The pub is welcoming with a great bar and restaurant. There is plenty of parking, complete with a 22kw chargers for EV's. The room was spacious and spotlessly clear. There was both a kettle and two cafetieres with fresh decaf coffee, if you wanted it. The bed was large and comfortable with good bedding. The bathroom had a great shower and plenty of towels and complimentary toiletries, if needed. As it was a Monday evening, the pub was quiet, however the food was good pub food from a varied menu. Prices are reasonable for both food and drinks. We booked a dinner, bed and breakfast package which was very good value. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Our only comment would be the choice of some fresh fruit would have been appreciated. Overall, we would stay here again. It is part of a chain of hotels at which we have stayed before. Our previous experience, was equally as positive.

Brilliant, greeted with a smile, very attentive staff, delicious food. Enjoyable experience. Our waiter Lewis did an excellent job always courteous and polite. Definitely going back. I would highly recommend you won't be dissapointed.
