Howard Johnson by Wyndham Tropical Palms Kissimmee

Worst place that I have ever stayed at in Kissimmee Fl to date! I reserved it for two reasons: #1 it was a “Wyndham” property so I went by the good name only to find out it was a Howard Johnson establishment and #2 I was only staying overnight for my cousins wake and funeral. I checked in at 3:17pm on 3/8/22 and was out of the room by 10am on 3/9/22. The place was outdated and dingy. There was a blood stain here n the 2nd bed (thank goodness I was alone, but took pictures); furniture had piece that were broken; the tub had rust marks and chips on the tub; the bathroom floor also had rust marks and walls had chips of paint missing (pictures taken as well). I tried calling the front desk and it was not working! The tv sound control didn’t work. If I would have had time I would have tried to find another place but I had just drive 3 hours from Ft Lauderdale to Kissimmee and I only had 1 hour before the wake! Please avoid this place with everything you have! Not worth it whatsoever. Even the front desk staff was deplorable. Even under all these circumstances I still left my maid a cash tip!!! I’m sorry that I have to be so difficult but what put the icing on the cake was when I went to pay my bill at American Express for this overnight stay and noticed that I was being charged he’d an extra $50!!!!!!! For what????

We had room 253. This was one of the least expensive hotels in Kissimmee with a decent rating so we weren't expecting luxury and of course didn't get it. We only needed a room for one night, though, and this was comfortable and clean. And everything worked. Pros: Friendly man at the front desk who was pretty busy when we arrived. Good location with many restaurants and stores in the area. The shower worked well and there was a hair dryer. Also included was a small fridge and microwave. Shampoo and bar soap were provided but that was all. There was a separate chair and desk, the beds were very comfortable with 3 pillows per bed. There were no blankets at all ON the beds but blankets were provided and folded on top of the clothing rack. TV was adequate. Iron and ironing board provided. Wi-fi worked well. Cons: There's no elevator. Because of that, we requested a room on the ground floor but were told ahead of time by e-mail that it depended on what was available when we checked in. We ended up having to haul our suitcases up and down the stairs. It seems that they could hold a ground floor room for people who request it ahead of time. The room had a slight odor that wasn't too unpleasant, but was noticeable, nevertheless. Furniture, sink, fixtures were old and kind of beat up. The towels were ROUGH. We didn't find the fridge at first because it's in the cabinet under the TV and the cabinet looked like drawers. The safe had a sign on it that said "do not use." No USB charging ports near the bed but there was an outlet available. Things are worn like spots on the carpet, some stains and broken spots on the lamp shades. The grab and go breakfast was a jumbo iced honey bun and a bottle of water in a brown paper bag. We also had to pay a $100 damage deposit. Misc: This is an older style hotel with outside hallways. Our room had 2 chairs and a table outside the door with privacy walls between our area and the rooms on either side of us. There was a nice view of the lake, the kayaks, and the pool area. Our room also had a connecting door to another room that was back-to-back with ours.

I loved the cable tv and swimming pool the staff was friendly and the beds were well spread and it was located in the center of everything.My children loved it and the other guests were very friendly the bathroom was also very nice!!

The desk clerk was very rude. The room had ants all over the sink. They had key cards that didn't work. They say they charge extra for a refrigerator in the room. Worst hotel to go to try up the street. Honestly!!

We spent Two nights here. Two nights too long! The room was awful, outdated furniture, lamps that didn’t work, bath tub and sink were rotten! The only plus was the front desk staff who were, really helpful.

VERY dirty property and expensive. Dated! Old mattresses, dirt on the floors, cold water, broken electrical plugs. Rude staff. Garbage EVERYWHERE on the property. Unhelpful staff. The issues here were not Covid-related. Felt unsafe, loud. Lack of towels.
