Loisaba Star Beds

Staying at Loisaba star beds was an experience we will never forget. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay and made us feel at home straight away. We had dinner at the Starbed restaurant which was exceptional - the food and setting was unbeatable. The star beds themselves are just incredible - we will never forget going to bed under the clearest stars we have ever seen or waking up and watching the *****ed hyenas stroll across in-front of our balcony. The conservancy itself is so much quieter than anywhere else we have been giving it a private and personal feel. We visited several places across Tanzania and Kenya however this was head and shoulders our favourite. We can't wait to return and would recommend to anyone - a truly special place.

This experience is not to be missed! Each room has been designed like a private tree house. The Lodge is quite unique and intimate. Our guide, Dalmaz, knew everything about Laikipia. Our drives were fascinating spotting cheetah brothers on the hunt and a pride of lionesses and six cubs. The privacy of the Loisaba Conservancy allows for traveling off-road and getting very close to the animals in secluded areas. You are with the animals in the wild. We felt like we were in another world and yet this area is just north of Nairobi. The village visit was memorable and we had an amazing bush breakfast by a Yellow Fever tree. Highly recommend getting a massage if you have the time.

Staying at Elewana Loisaba Star Beds was one of the highlights of my safari trip in Kenya. The staff was amazing! Veronica, Dalmas, Steve, Rafael, John, Phillip, Salad, Fisher, and all the staff behind the scenes made everything comfortable and I felt right at home. The food was delicious! Sleeping under the stars was marvelous! I was lucky to have clear nights so the stars were many and very bright. The rooms overlook a watering hole so you get to see (and hear) elephants, zebras, giraffes, and hipps from bed in the morning. The rooms are rustic but very comfortable and the experience of sleeping out in the open was enchanting! I highly recommend staying at Star Beds. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience that you’ll never forget!

One of the best lodges I have ever been to in Kenya. As soon as you enter the lodge you feel welcomed. Location is brilliant, Rooms are amazing (you feel the connect with the nature), Food is brilliant, Staff here are outstanding (I cant explain how friendly they are). Sleeping under the sky is one in a lifetime experience. It is a must visit place for anyone coming to Kenya. Game drives can be bit boring for people coming to safari for first time as spotting animals in not easy (but I guess that is the fun of going on safari).

These sky bed bungalows were clean, beautiful, and very cool. The lodge is surrounded by awesome scenery and we were very lucky seeing a huge variety of animals (5 cheetahs and 2 leopards!). Our guide Bill was really knowledgeable and very nice, we had a great time learning from him with fun conversation. Our meals were expertly prepared by chef Rafael and the entire staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and very happy. We recommend this stay to anyone looking to upgrade their safari experience.

We really were excited to spend a night under the stars, we were sadly disappointed in the experience. The staff was great, Veronica ( manager) could not have been more gracious. The bed does roll out to the deck, but be prepared for a very rustic evening, we were kind of forced to just be in the bed since the room has little else. Here’s the problem, the main reason for booking this very expensive evening is the stars, so you are completely at the mercy of the weather, if it’s cloudy, game over. I think we saw about 10 stars, I’m sure if you are lucky and have a crystal clear night sky the experience would be different, it’s just a very expensive gamble.

Incredible!! The views are unparalleled. And the whole experience was fantastical - from the "baby leopard" (a.k.a. a spotted genet) that stayed with us during our romantic candlelit dinner, to the incredible staff that took care of everything for us, to the bed literally situated under the entire Milky Way galaxy that was visible to the naked eye - this place is amazing!!! Don't forget to take a horseback ride through the bush. Then say hi to Philip and let him be your liquid chef. He makes a perfectly balanced G&T!! :) And if you are really lucky, you'll get the best Masai safari guide, Dalmas. His passion for conservation, culture, and education are infectious. We are forever changed because of our time with him and look forward to keeping in touch with him as he changes the world! We will never forget the experience and people at Loisaba Star Beds.

The Elewana Loisaba Star Beds camp is a cozy, intimate camp with a fantastic staff, great food, and one of the most unique overnight experiences I've ever had in Kenya. Sleeping under the stars, listening to the night noises, and feeling the breeze make you feel very close to the land. I saw more shooting stars than ever before in my life. The views from the camp are breath-taking (I stayed in #2), and I had some of the best wildlife sightings ever. It's truly an unforgettable experience.

What a special place! Loisaba Kiboko Star Beds was the first place we stayed on our first safari experience and it stood out as one of the best places during our trip. We arrived at the Loisaba air *****, were welcomed by the our incredible guide Benson where we learned about Loisaba with a brief orientation before driving to the lodge. Since it was our first safari, we didn’t realize that the safari part started IMMEDIATELY! We saw incredible wildlife all the way to the lodge! The lodge is intimate and beautiful with a beautiful view where you can observe all the wildlife coming and going to the water. The room is open sided to the elements, but had everything we needed for a great stay (including power outlets, shampoo, conditioner and moisturizing lotion - pro tip - they all contain natural essential oils that repel insects!). The team there is small but incredible. We loved getting to know everyone and we were treated with such kindness and warmth. Huge shout out to Philip, John, Chef Makine and especially our guide Benson - as well as everyone who worked long hours behind the scenes to make this place so special. The view from every part of the intimate lodge is spectacular. The meals under the stars were incredible and sleeping under the stars listening to lions, elephants, hyenas and all the surrounding wildlife was a dream. We can’t wait to return!
