Totally disappointed , I choose this hotel as it has 3 stars but there are spiders in the rooms even they do not clean my room for 3 days . There is no dust bin inside the room even there is hot water not comes from the taps . At last I just wanna say people pls go for good hotel which gives you value for your money

Spot on place , helpfull staff , clean tidy Well situated in town center. Loads of pubs restaurants and fast food locally . Spent 5 months there for work can't fault it . Close to Tesco waitrose and aldi as well so really can please yourself. Oh and parking at the back .

Lots of building-works going on, and workmen onsite, there was dust everywhere, wet paint etc. The whole place is creep, and weird, the Staff struggle with the English language, and there was no breakfast. 🍳 I’m not sure if there was an India wedding, but there was loud Bangla music till the early hours coming from the courtyard bedrooms.

Family weekend fun treat away at the raceway and stay in hotel for 1 night brilliant location clean friendly old hotel with old beams lovely being updated by new owners welcoming and friendly lovely stay small car park great location for shops and restaurants great value for money spend

The Talbot has definitely improved since my last stay there, a couple of years ago. But that wouldn’t be difficult! New owners have taken over, and seem to be doing their best to make the place better. The location is ideal, right on the High Street. My room was small & basic, and seems to have been recently renovated. There were clean towels & toiletries provided, the TV remote worked, and the shower provided hot water. There was free wi-fi. All the staff I encountered were friendly, and provided good service. My main issue with my stay was that I was in an outside room, off the car park. The door from the car park to these rooms was wedged open, and left open all night. There were people smoking in the car park from an event that was going on. Potentially anyone from outside could have walked in and used the corridor where the rooms were. Hopefully, in future, management will provide guests with a key to that door too and keep it locked.

There are new owners and they are struggling. The rooms are very basic. No tea/coffee making facilities. TV did not work properly for entire stay. No ironing facilities. No toilet roll in room. Dried blood stains on duvet cover. Pillows a joke!! Toiletries basic. Communication issues. Bathroom freezing and one morning went to a friend's house for a shower. No ambience in the bar area. No food as kitchen out of action. I will never return to this hotel. It may well be ok in the future, I hope, but for now, a big fat no thanks.

Absolutely horrified and refused to stay here after given a FILTHY ROOM - hadn’t been cleaned from previous stay. Takeaway boxes, dirty sheets piled up, bed side tables pulled into the middle of the room - you’d have thought a staff member had been staying in it. The carpet in the entire building is filthy, rubbish scattered around the entire building. I wouldn’t mind but I actually called ahead 3 times before arriving.. no excuses for what we were given. CS rep was very hesitant and very RUDE when asking to give a refund (I’m still waiting for it) .. can’t believe booking dot com have allowed this establishment on its website. Wouldn’t let my dogs stay in this building. NO facilities - NO TV, NO WiFi, NO towels, NO toilet roll, NO heating,
