Lovely hotel, service was great and the food was excellent. The gardens are beautiful for sitting out with a nice cold drink on a hot day.

Positive- The hotel is beautiful. The lobby is spectacular and views are out of this world. In the back yard you can find hundred of wild cute bunnies running around. Negative- rooms are freezing, breakfast is absolutely disgusting (fruits are like 2-4 days old) breakfast buffet is not worth a penny, I wouldn’t eat there if they paid me. When I asked why they didn’t replace my water in my room they said they only provide a “complimentary” bottle of water PER STAY (500 ml., if you need more water you have to pay at the bar) and also they have NO ROOM SERVICE which means you have to go get your water bottle Downstairs at the bar after you realize they don’t replace your water. Average age of guest is 85 and the vibes are chill. Bartenders are cool. Best part of this hotel are the rabbits. They only reason I gave it more than a star is because of the beautiful facade and the rabbits, otherwise I would highly recommend any other hotel around the area. For the money, definitely NOT worth it. If you like rabbits, maybe yes. But you should bring your own apples.

Hotel is outdated, walls and doors need painting. No room service. No water provided to guests. Heater turns off at night. Sink has cold and hot water separate so you can choose between freezing or scalding your hands or face when washing them.

Totally blown away with this hotel, yes it’s an old historic building and a few signs of its age, but it adds to the character. The rooms are comfortable but the bathroom could do with a little refresh. The staff are amazingly friendly, helpful and always there if you need them, nothing is too much trouble. Then the food, I’m so glad we chose to have dinner here “fantastic” is all I can say, the menu changed every night with a great range to choose from and presented beautifully. My wife’s Celiacs was catered for with most of the menu gluten free or adapted, top marks for that. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice of hot and cold options. The bar was well stocked and not over priced and again the service fantastic. We really enjoyed returning from Keswick and having a drink in the bar to relax our aching feet in tastefully decorated and comfortable area. We stay a lot in the Lake District for little weekend breaks away. This hotel is the best, forget your 4* and 5* expensive hotels that promise the earth and don’t deliver, go here YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. We will definitely be returning and are already planning our next visit. Keswick Center only took us 5 mins to walk at a nice, steady pace.

Close your eyes to the pricey homogeneous roosting boxes (hotels) that increasingly adorn The Lake District. Instead slump into the civility and service of The Keswick Country House Hotel. The old Victorian station hotel built in 1869 with tons of history. Central to Keswick, lovely grounds to walk or sit out in (serviced if the weather allows), comfortable rooms, juicy food and supremely pleasant, attentive and oft delightfully quirky staff. Huge lounge areas with bungy sofas and chairs (serviced with food and drinks should you want). Lovely people stay here. Join them and no I am not related just buzzing. Oh, you can park your car as well. Pricey? Not really.

This is a regular stop off when i am in Keswick. Last visited 12/9/24. Its just outside Keswick, a 10 minute walk, if that. Its a must if i have a business meeting. Staff are very very good. Very polite and efficient. Nothing is ever a trouble. Good Car Park. Its a Historic Building and so parts of the Hotel are original. Its a very nice Museum Piece so i imagine they are very limited as to what they can 'improve', if that's the right word. You would not repaint the Mona Lisa, would you? Planners would not have it and rightly so. It was a Railway Hotel originally, Keswick Station was right behind it This closed 4 March 1972. So this disused Railway is now the K2T (Keswick to Threlkeld Trail). A lovely flat walk, 10k, there and back. Threlkeld is well worth a lunch stop. The Keswick Country House Hotel is a lovely Hotel and well beyond its Three Star rating, in my opinion. I would give it 99.9% on my personal score rating. Good Job! Thanks All.

Historic property, bar and lounge area upgraded, rooms are pretty standard, fantastic views from restaurant windows, but the major bonus is dogs are not allowed in the main hotel building. Staff are friendly efficient and knowledgeable, so in a very busy business hotel, breakfast service works like clockwork didn’t eat dinner, but that was a mistake as most eating places in town are poor and dogs all over them.

What a fab hotel. This is our sixth visit here. Spotlessly clean, lovely staff and food. Only criticism is the dated bathroom.. well beyond its sell by state and a horrid leak making the floor permanently wet. In fairness to the hotel, we only realised it was a leak on our last day so didn’t report immediately as we had previously thought we had made it wet. The bedroom, in the station area, was massive and a real treat to have. Dates but still clean and serviceable! The bathroom is bad though… sort it out guys! It wouldn’t stop us returning but a new bathroom would certainly encourage a return visit sooner!

Came here for a weekend away with my mum. I usually go to a B&B up the road but I couldn’t get us in there as it was full. I am so glad it was full!! What an absolutely fabulous hotel. The staff were lovely and went the extra mile to help people. They were all really friendly and looked really smart. The room was huge for a standard room and stunning views over Skiddaw and Latrigg. The room was really clean and modern with very comfortable beds. The breakfast was a buffet and was very very good! Had mostly everything you could want. The main thing for me was the huge, full sun, beautiful beer garden. We were lucky to have very warm sunny weather for our 3 days and we spent every evening having pre dinner drinks in the sun watching the rabbits play on the lawn 🐇 🥰 in cannot comment on the evening meal as we prefer to try different restaurants in town but the dining room looked full every evening. The parking was good and plenty space for hotel guests. I was absolutely delighted with our stay and will be back soon!!
