The Europe Hotel & Resort

Great four day stay, a proper 5*. The staff were outstanding, food in the Panorama - well! Will be back but it’d be great if kids weren’t allowed in the outdoor (amazing view) pool. Breakfast was fecken sensational. I’d advise a stay as it’s an oasis away from the mayhem of Killarney.

We’ve been coming to The Europe for many years now as a family including (now older) teenagers and always loved it. The facilities, staff, food and location continue to be excellent, and we always loved that you could bring children to a luxury spa. It seemed on this visit that the kids, particularly in the u10 age range, have taken-over the place and are left run wild by parents who don’t care about the other guests. Playing with the ice in the adult section of the spa, iPads with Peppa Pig blaring in the spa quiet areas, outdoor tub packed with kids messing with floaties, climbing through hedges in the gardens and running up and down the corridors screaming at midnight. As I’m writing this I’m wondering if I’m becoming grumpy in my middle-age - quite possibly! In many ways it feels like the Europe is a victim of its own success as a luxury family destination. I’m not sure how the hotel can prevent itself from becoming a Center Park-type holiday camp…… limit the numbers of kids (it seemed like there were hundreds this time), set expectations with parents on behaviour, have staff stop kids messing in the adult areas…? Or maybe the target is this demographic and we need to avoid school holidays or choose a different luxury hotel as the kids get older. Still an awesome hotel, but be careful if it’s mid-term and you are looking for relaxation.

The Europe is a fabulous hotel and well worth the drive. We booked back in January and then had to postpone until last week so there was a great sense of anticipation ahead of ur stay. We spent 2 nights here opting for a Deluxe Family Room with Lake View. The room was large and comfortable. The views across the lake were unbelievable. The ipad in the room didnt work and I had to give the batteries in the tv remote a little rattle to get rhem going. Also, the wifi wasnt great in the evening for whatever reason. The pool area was awesome especially the Vitality Pool and Thermal Suite. I could have stayed outside in the Vitality Pool (in the rain) all day and night - really cool! The spa was fully booked so we didnt get to experience that but thems the breaks! We ate in the Brasserie both evenings and really enjoyed the food. The menu comprises a good mix of options and the kids menu was great value for money. A little surprised to be charged €6 for a bottle of still water (times two) on the first night having not been offered tap water! Second night, tap water was offered. Breakfast in the Panorama restaurant was also class. Great selection of food on the self service and off the menu - so many options I didnt know what to choose! All absolutely lovely though. Staff were excellent throughout the hotel and always very helpful when required. Special note of thanks to the lady who looks after the Stables for taking great care of my kids when they took Sara the pony out for a couple of rides. In terms of value for money, the Europe wasnt bad overall but I would have expected higher standards in terms of the room facilities (ipad etc) & also cleanliness for what we paid. Thats not to say the resort is dirty rather we were surprised to find a selection of empty glasses stacked outside our room during the course of our stay.

Every time I have been to this wonderful hotel I have had a great experience All the staff are so helpful and lovely . I had a wonderful room with a breathtaking view of the lake. The pool and spa were delightful with a salt pool, warm pool and swimming pool.they also have an espa spa were a got a wonderful massage

Fabulous weekend away. Up the road. It wasike stepping into a different world. 5 star all the way. Staff made it for me. From the minute we arrived. Reception, bar, 6 couldn't do enough. Can I say a big thank you to 6 waiter tonight. Impeccable service and still had time for a little chat chat. Desert was amazing.but for me it was deffently the 6 star service.

The perfect destination to celebrate this big life event. The staff where so helpful and friendly, very professional but are able to have the craic at the same time. Food in both viva restaurant and panoramic restaurants was delicious. The spa facilities absolutely unreal, best sleep I've ever had in the comfiest of bed. Can't think of 1 fault, the best.
