Mains of Taymouth Country Estate Gallops Apartments

Stayed at Granary court for 1 week over the New Year period. We had a number of issues with the house which I reported to reception. Firstly you don’t get access to the property until 4pm to allow them to do there final checks yet when we entered the house the radiator in the main bedroom upstairs wasn’t working, the toilet off the utility room locking mechanism left a lot to be desired, the upstairs shared bathroom has a toilet with half a flushing button and the inside shelves in the wardrobes and bedside cabinet hasn’t seen a duster in a long time. We also discovered a cob web above the cooker and generally not very clean. The heating and hot water stopped working twice, the ground floor kitchen is very cold as the doors have drafts! Hot tub need some maintenance as not working at capacity. Beds were comfortable and kitchen area was well kitted out. Over priced in my opinion for what we got and the issues we were faced with. I think you need to revisit your entry and exit times for all properties and rethink the need to stay for 1 week over the festive period.

4th year in a row in The Farmhouse! As always the accommodation was lovely and super clean. All the bedrooms are a great size meaning everyone has a lovely room. Staff on reception are very friendly and helpful. Good food and wine at The Courtyard too. All in all the resort is lovely, perfect for a relaxing few days away with friends.

Our 7th time staying at MoT as we love it here. We have stayed in several properties all great but our 4th time in The Stables. Very spacious with 5 bedrooms but also cosy and very well equipped apart from the knives which are badly in need of being sharpened.

This our 3rd stay at Mains of Taymouth, but our 1st stay in Smiddy Cottage. We wanted a more traditional accommodation with a log burner due to the visit being in December. The cottage is traditional but does require some little tweaks to make it more comfortable. The bed in the master bedroom is very, very hard. I can cope with a hard mattress, but this was exceptionally hard. I am told the mattress in the second bedroom was very comfortable however. Behind the bedside table in the master bedroom there were some used tissues and other little bits of litter that was quite off-putting. The sofas are uncomfortable, they are sagging and need replaced. It would be a benefit for use of the hot-tub in winter to have a canopy and better lighting. We could only use during daylight hours. There wasn't a blue-tooth speaker as promised in the cottage, but we were delivered a sound bar as a compromise. Plenty of logs were supplied for the burner, the cottage was very cosy because of this. All that being said, the Smiddy cottage is great for a few nights stay. The above comments didn't spoil our break at all. The Estate is lovely and the restaurant and bar was decorated nicely for Xmas.

Fab short break away the lodge was 5 star and the reception team were very helpful. the location was quiet and peacefull. lovely having the bar and restaurant so close by serving great food and the service and atmosphere was lovely. Having the well stocked deli on the estate was excellent as well We will be back

We’ve been visiting Mains of Taymouth for over ten years, every year throughout the year and it never disappoints. The quality of the accommodation and the friendly service of the staff keep us coming back. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!
