Holiday Home Kelaa

We spent with a family 8 nights at HHK. We booked a family room, these are actually two units connected. Great location, a minute walk from the beach, very friendly stuff made our experience even better. The rooms were nice and clean, both A/C and wifi worked perfectly. The food was delicious, local style. We decided to take half board, giving us an opportunity to explore Kelaa village. The island is big for Maldivian standards, with a charming village and astonishing 2km long white sandy beach. The lagune is great for swimming, you may even spot turtles, although the visibility was too low to find them with a mask. There is no house reef but HHK organizes snorkeling trips to the nearby reef for a good price. We saw plenty of sharks and had a great encounter with manta ray. One thing to mention are mosquitos at the evening, but hey that’s nature. All in all, we had a great time at HHK, and can highly recommend it if you are looking for guest house type of accommodation. If you are looking for a peaceful inhabited island, where you can wander around, experience local culture and food, plus enjoy one of the longest & empty white sandy beach, than you should definitely put Kelaa and Holiday Home Kelaa on top of your list. We came to visit Kelaa for 6 days - the most remote and not very popular island for tourists yet. There are still a few entertainments, few shops, eateries, but we knew what we were choosing. Part of the island is fenced off, where construction of new guest houses, shops and other infrastructure is taking place. The main thing is that we got, what we wanted - palm trees, white sand, a turquoise ocean that does not drop below 28 °. Frequent short-term rains did not spoil the vacation. Only in the Maldives you can swim in the rain and have fun. There is always the option to lie on a sun lounger under an umbrella, watch TV, sitting in your room, turning on the air conditioning, explore the island, take beautiful photos for Instagram, you can take books from the bookshelf to read in English and Italian. You can also play billiards or throw a darts. Sometimes midges can be annoying. You can ignore this, but for those who are especially sensitive, can bring mosquito spray. The hotel management kindly provided us with one bottle of mosquito repellent. Or you can purchase them at their local store. We had half board, so we dined on what we brought with us - nuts, dried fruits, protein bars. We bought fresh coconut every day. But you can also eat in restaurant or local cafes. In the store you can find apples, pears, bananas, oranges, cucumbers, tomatoes and, if you're lucky, something else from the vegetables and fruits. There are also many other things that are sold in small shops, including sweets. Personally, I liked the island. I found everything I wanted. The ocean, the hot sun, the white sand, banana and coconut palms. What else do you need? Holiday Home Kelaa is a great option for your stay. Free Wi-Fi, all drinking water is free. They provide free bicycles and kayaks. Smart TV with Wi-Fi. You can also choose excursions for an additional fee. We only took fishing . The fish we caught was cooked for us for dinner. The hotel room had everything you need. The room service was good. The food in the restaurant was delicious and varied. The staff was attentive and friendly.

I had an excellent stay at this guesthouse on Kelaa Island! The place was spotless, and the air conditioning worked incredibly well, making the room very comfortable. The staff was responsive and kind; special thanks to the host, Ibbe, for his kindness and quick response when I arrived to find my original booking at another hotel was unexpectedly closed. He welcomed me into his guesthouse without hesitation and made sure I was comfortable. One of the highlights was the fishing trip, which was really fun and full of variety in the catch. The best part was enjoying my catch for dinner the next evening. Upon arrival, I was welcomed with a refreshing coconut drink, a very nice touch! The room had everything I needed, and there was daily room service. The guesthouse even provides free bikes, which made it easy to explore the island. Plus, the beach is only 50 meters away—a huge bonus! The food was delicious and offered a good variety, with the staff taking into account any small preferences I had. I highly recommend this guesthouse for anyone looking to experience true Maldivian hospitality! Although Kelaa Island is far from Malé, it’s one of the best choices for a peaceful getaway. The island is calm, untouched by mass tourism, and offers a truly relaxing experience

We stayed for a week at HHK for relaxation and for the purpose of exploring a new place in Maldives. We loved and enjoyed every moment with this beautiful hotel at Kelaa. We tried to find a really good place by google maps as we always preferred to stay at place close to the beach, we got connected with Ibbe via WhatsApp, the communications were very prompt, professional and efficient. Ibbe helped to make sure that were pampered throughout our stay along with the incredible team. The moment we arrived at the beautiful island Kelaa we were welcomed with cold towels and a refreshing drink. We got escorted to the hotel immediately. The jetty where we arrived was located by a 3 minutes walk to the hotel. After a quick registration process we were already at our beautiful room. The room we booked was located on the ground floor which had all amenities we needed from bottled water to bathroom amenities, kettle to make hot water for coffee/tea and the TV which we did not use at all and much more. There was an outdoor shower that we used a lot, It is rare to find outdoor showers in most of the guest houses we stayed before. We enjoyed all the meals provided by the hotel, local breakfasts, customized lunches and special dinners - all were beyond our expectations. It felt so lively to have the ambient music at the public areas of the hotel at all times (Ibbe has a very good taste for relaxing Music) We explored the island, swimming (the beach was located so close from the hotel - a 3 minutes walk), bike rides, fishing trips and BBQ. Manta snorkeling trip was very special and we enjoyed every moment of that trip (we were lucky to spot few dolphins on this trip too). The hotel also had indoor recreation facilities including billiards, football, chess and darts. I strongly recommend to book all the boat activities and excursions with the hotel as it gave more insights to what else can be enjoyed during the trip and on the island. The crew was fun, caring and always gave attention to us and made sure we had a great time even though we were locals. The team at the Holiday Home Kelaa was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our stay.
