Moksha at Kitulgala - Rainforest Boutique Hotel

I had an absolutely incredible stay at Moksha in Kitulgala! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warm hospitality and a peaceful atmosphere that instantly put me at ease. The location is breathtaking, surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sounds of nature—perfect for a relaxing getaway. The accommodations were beautifully designed, blending comfort with nature seamlessly. The rooms were spacious, clean, and offered stunning views. The food was another highlight—delicious, fresh, and full of flavor! The staff went above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience, always attentive and friendly. Whether you’re looking for adventure or relaxation, Moksha has it all. I highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone seeking tranquility and an unforgettable stay. I can’t wait to return!

I had a wonderful one-night stay at your hotel with a few of my friends during our visit to Sri Lanka in the last week of December 2024. The room was immaculate—neat, tidy, and exceptionally clean. The breathtaking view and the high standard of maintenance throughout the premises were truly impressive. I especially appreciated the calm and serene atmosphere of the property. A special thanks to the staff for their personalized service, including arranging a delightful outdoor dinner—it was such a memorable touch. The variety of delicious food you served and the natural water stream and natural pool added greatly to the charm of our stay. Overall, it was an amazing experience. What can I say… ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. The staff is what really makes Moksha a must go to hotel. We stayed there for 3 nights, one of which was our anniversary day. So we were overjoyed with the free room upgrade. Moksha went the extra mile to arrange the table with rose petals and a candle, even folding the napkin into a rose, but the icing on the cake was really THE CAKE. The chef whipped us up a strawberry and cream cake, it was delicious. But in all honesty, Moksha’s chef is incredible. From the soup to the main course and even all of breakfast it was absolutely amazing! The first night I had a crème brûlée which didn’t disappoint but I wish I had more of it 😭. Even though there was a set menu, the team was flexible with catering for dietary requirements/preferences, you’ve just got to let them know your choices before 5pm. They had a beautiful pool but it wasn’t heated so we didn’t get a chance to hop in since we went during a cooler time, but they also had a natural pond where the water comes straight from the River. Now for the reality check, this beautiful hotel is a little tucked away which is perfect for those who want to be isolated but makes accessing the town a little hard. However, Moksha is happy to organise transport. They are also very helpful in arranging water sports (rafting, canyoning ect) as they have a specific company they outsource this too but we found it cheaper to find an outside company, so just compare prices before booking. Also, make sure not to keep food lying around as ants find their way in and we know they’re hard to clear out. Asides from that, I’d definitely recommend and would visit again. Shout out to the amazing staff and food! Special note of Isuru, who was very attentive to our every need.
