During our two-week trip to Sri Lanka, we stayed in nine different 4 and 5-star hotels, and this was by far the worst experience. The room was spacious, but the WiFi was either slow or non-responsive, and the air conditioning was either on maximum power or completely off. Our travel agent booked us a half-board package, and the hotel served breakfast and dinner from a set menu. The breakfast sausages and bacon were freezing cold and inedible, and the overall service in the restaurant was poor. For dinner, my kids ordered vegetable lasagna, which was watery, cold, and tasteless. I ordered vegetable rice and chicken. The rice was fine, but I received six tiny pieces of chicken on the bone, which were cold, hard, and chewy. When I brought this to the waiter’s attention, he simply said, “Okay, sir,” without offering any remedy. The Coca-Cola bottle was warm, and they did not serve alcoholic drinks. I reported these issues to the receptionist, but he pretended not to understand me. The only positive aspect was that we were only staying for one night. We will definitely not be returning!
