Tiancheng International Youth Hostel (Kashgar Ancient City Branch)

The girl on the front desk is helpful using her phone translator, there’s beer in the fridge (Wusu is the strongest but not very strong), the 4-bed room has bathroom and curtains for the beds for privacy. Nice to hear the music from below reaching the room. Great to be in Kashgar for the brilliant Sunday Grand Bazaar livestock and food market, and for the unadorned serene Id Kar main mosque (one of 24,300 mosques in Xinjiang), the mausoleum (walk up the long side road and see it from the back first: it’s beautiful there, there’s no one else and the cemetery is also amazing). The old city isn’t so special but there is a separate part over the main road rather is much less touristy and more appealing. There’s also this beautiful cafe there shown on the last three photos here, with loads of coffees, playing Astrid Gilberto, and with beautiful features he chose to add to the original old-city building.

Lovely place to talk to other travellers. Perfect for individual travellers.

Great hostel in a very central location, super friendly staff (hello Zeynep!) and owners. Showers are hot, washing machines are readily available, plenty of space to sit down and do some work. Beds are comfortable to my taste. overall a great experience for the price!

Nice location which is 4 min walk from the West gate (cars are not allowed in the ancient city area so being close to the gate would be an advantage). A lot of shops and restaurants just downstairs where you can get everything you need. Easy to wander around the ancient town as well. The dormitory bed and the bathroom is nice and clean. There is activity at night to socialise. Staff are nice and helpful. Will recommend this!

Providing a great help for us looking for a tour to tashkurgan and how to get a permit. The location of the hostel is on the quiet side of the old town of Kashgar.

This place is amazing. Very well located, rooms are super nice and super clean, and above all everyone at the hostel is super nice, very helpful (I arrived very lately and they helped me to get some foods, a charger, etc). I would 100% recommend this place. Thank you to the manager who is amazing and lovely.
