Big4 Karuah Jetty Holiday Park

Last minute 2 night booking. Very accommodating office, rang to let us know they had had a lot of rain, offered a credit if we didn’t want to come. Grass site was fine with power and water. No oyster farming due to a bug, this was a big disappointment for us. Not much to do unless you have a boat for fishing or crabbing. Visited Hawkes Nest and Tea Gardens but again needed a boat for fishing. Amenities clean and people were friendly, probs best for an overnight visit if at all.

Our first stay was in the smaller chalet. Had everything we needed, clean, quiet comfortable. On our stay a week later we were given an upgrade to a deluxe chalet. Felt everything was brand new, lots of space everywhere, more private aspect from verandah. Really deluxe with two main bedrooms, felt a bit wasted just on a couple? Thank you we will return.

Stop off going up the east coast. Helpful staff. Very clean and lovely vista from the jetty. Our cabin was fine. WiFi not much use but otherwise very good value. Didn’t really get to check out all the facilities. Happy to return and suspect if had clue skies would have been even better.

So happy with our stay with our camper trailer and very happy with this parks location, meaning it's very in the middle of nowhere and so peaceful. But less than an hours drive to a mall or things to do. You can hire pedal parts at the park, our 3yo loved them. And the Jetty is so pretty. The amenities and camp kitchen are ALL kept so clean and there's a little games room but we loved the projector that they played movies on every night. And a communal fire pit.

Did not see any maintenance carried out in park during stay except for a daily working of the pool area. Visited pool in the morning and found empty beer cans and cigarette butts. Caravan Site was poorly maintained and turned to mud in rain. Kids running riot during darkness hours on bikes. Asked people on numerous occasions not to take shortcut through our sites. Stopped kids riding bikes through our site and came back to site one afternoon to find a scratch on car. Adults exceeding park speed limit on electric scooters during darkness. Neighbouring site continued to play loud music even after being requested not to. First morning I was woken at 5.30am by loud noise of an adjacent site packing up to leave early, which continued until 6.30am. Great pool for family though and great location. First time in 15 years of caravanning that I have put in a bad review. I would've reported most of these things to the office, but I would've been there everyday and felt that the staff of the park should have at least visited the area to look around with the amount of people staying there. I saw NO people checking on things. All in all a very disappointing stay of 5 days and all for the princely sum of $120 per night per site and we had 2 sites !! I replied to their email regarding a review and wrote the above, but received nothing back.

Arrived here in our camper van & we’re greeted with a smile by Trish… Great start in my book… we are here for a 3 night stay just to go fishing & relax. We scored a great mid week special with an ensuite site, which was very clean and tidy.. thank you to the team of cleaners & maintenance staff who do a wonderful job maintaining a high standard in the park. The area is very nice overall with camp kitchen, TV room & lounge area provided.. the BBQ’s were clean and the kitchen tidy. The pool looked clean & inviting… I’m yet to dip a toe in though, haha. It was very peaceful and the park was not full so we enjoyed the vibe a lot. People were friendly and I recon we might just be back again sometime soon.
