One of my best experiences on my recent SA / Namibia trip ! I found this lodge by chance, on my way from Windhoek to Swakopmund. It was getting late and I didn’t want to drive in the dark. This is not a “see the big 5 and quaff $100 bottles of wine” type lodge. In season you might see some zebras, otherwise it’s African deer, warthogs, and in the rainy season beautiful birds and butterflies. The charm lies in the isolation, the rustic simplicity, and the warm welcome from Johann and Monica- and if you’re interested, the fascinating African tales from the former. It’s also great for riding but if that’s not your thing then go for a sunset tour with Johann. Food is simple but wholesome (try the kudu lasagna) and the cottages comfortable. All at the very fair price of 1000 Namibian $ per head. NB it’s a good half hour drive from the main road and a 4WD is highly recommended.
