The Marriott was the only hotel in Karachi accepted, for safety reasons, by my Company. There were several checks upon arrival and I felt safe at the hotel. The pool is great and open from 6.00am to 11.00pm, allowing a relaxing swim before or after a busy working day. The food (I had breakfast and dinner - buffet -) is great, with many local options. However, I did not get the room I had booked and was sent to the new, so-called 'premium' area. While this area has been recently built/renovated, it is not pleasant at all. You need to go through a 'no man's land' to access it, the rooms have a window but you need to keep the curtain closed because the window is on the corridor, and not on the outside. Furthermore, the A/C is not easily manageable. The fan is always full speed and the airflow directed to the bed. Also the light switches do not make sense. It was impossible to switch on any light from the left side of the bed, when one of the switches was off on the right side of it.
