Berghotel Oeschinensee

I can only speak to the restaurant here not the hotel… we stopped for some food while visiting Oeschininsee. Service was really bad. Rude servers, and when I asked to fill mine and my daughters water bottles (normal size) with tap water… they charged me $15!!!… FOR TAP WATER! 🤦🏼‍♂️ Do yourself a favor and walk a few steps further and go to AVA. Great service, good food, tasty drinks and an even better view.

Located right next to Oeschinensee Lake, Berghotel is surrounded by mountains overlooking the gorgeous Oeschinensee lake. Scenic 20 minutes walk from the cable car brings you to Berghotel. Our check-in was smooth and the staff was very friendly, always wearing that beautiful smile and ready to help. Our room was super cozy and speck clean with a sink, which is always a great addition when you are sharing the bathroom. The shower and bathrooms were tidy too. We had the best dinner in Switzerland here. We had French fries, delicious Veg burger with appetizing salad, wine and coffee ice cream, a must try. Berghotel is a perfect place to stay, to explore the area. With a lot of walking trials there is so much to do here. For customers staying here overnight, there is a free shuttle to cable car in the morning at 9.30am. Show the booking confirmation at the parking + cable car ticket counter and you get a discount on both, now that's a steal deal! Highly recommended stay. Thanks to Berg hotel for making our stay memorable. PS: Thanks to the lady at shuttle bus for keeping my camera safe as I had left it in the bus. I made one call and they confirmed that the camera is safe with them. Thanks again Berghotel. CHEERS!!

Pro -The view is out of this world picture perfect pretty -We got the room with the view of the whole lake, I think there’s only 2 rooms like that, take it even for a night. The view in the morning worth all the trouble getting there. -Good breakfast, mostly homemade stuffs and very nice touch to everything. Con -Shared bathroom -No cars getting there, you need to park down the mountain parking and either walk up or sling up with the elevator thingy but if you choose to walk it’s quite a walk you got there. -Could be busy during the day time but after 6pm all the people are mostly gone except who staying there so pretty quiet at night. If you looking to camp in the forest during the night might not have been a good idea, the night we stayed there, there’s thunderstorms so the rocks keep falling from the mountains so look at the weather I would say.

Sehr feiner Lammpfeffer, Regionales Fleisch extrem zart! Glacé Hausgemacht, nettes Personal, Top-Destination. Alles Perfekt, das Restaurant ist sehr zu empfehlen nach einer 3-4 stündigen Wandertour, Ambiente und Ausblick fantastisch!

Das Beghotel Oeschinensee war für uns jahrelang ein gemütlicher Rückzugsort nach dem Skifahren oder einer Sommerwanderung. Leider hat der Umbau einige Charme-Elemente genommen – Selbstbedienung, enge Tischbereiche und fehlende Rückenlehnen auf der Terrasse. Das einst heimelige Restaurant wirkt nun weniger persönlich, eher auf Gewinnmaximierung ausgerichtet. Schade um den Verlust an Atmosphäre und Gastfreundschaft.

Très bon moment passé en couple au Berghotel Oeschinensee lors d’une randonnée dans la région de Kandersteg. Un accueil chaleureux, un service professionnel et un excellent repas. Le tout dans un cadre magnifique. On reviendra. Merci à toute l’équipe du Berghotel !

Magnifique hôtel perdu dans la montagne avec vue sur le lac, gelé en hiver. Nous avons été bien accueillis, installés et servis. Des poëles avec vitre qui permet de voir le bois bruler réchauffent l’atmosphère. Nous nous sommes régalés d'une soupe goulasch bien chaude et bien épicée avec du pain maison, super ! Ensuite un ragoût d'agneau avec spätzli et chou rouge. Tout était très bon, les spätzli peut-être un peu gras. Restaurant à recommander, prix pas bon marché, mais raisonnable.
