Hotel Gateway Grandeur

The hotel interior was awesome. I liked the paintings very much. Breakfast was also very good. The rooms were spacious and clean. We asked for an early check-in and the hotel cooperated , of course one room short. But still it was very kind of them. We were in a hurry to visit Kamakhya temple, so we hurriedly went out of the hotel after a brief freshening up. As the hotel is situated in a very crowded place, there was not enough parking for a large vehicle.

Rooms were smelly with pest control done recently, blankets, bed was soiled, lot of cockroaches in the room. lack of responsiveness from hotel management with no attempt to bring attention to manager inspite of reporting at front desk. Also breakfast had cockroach in food and instead of trying to address hygiene issue they tried to cover it up. Wi-Fi not operational for the most part. Certainly deserves not more than a 2 star rating. Hopefully hotel will wake up and try to address these concerns. They not only failed to address the concerns but were not willing to offer a refund.

If I could give them -5 I would give them -5. Where to start from. It was nothing less than an ordeal staying in this hotel. We took 2 rooms one king bed and another twin bed. First of all I would like to mention that all the rooms and bathrooms in this property are differently shaped and designed making each room look bad to worse. One room is either bigger than the other or smaller than the other inspite of being same category rooms. Secondly most of the rooms have a broken bed, and you have to trust me on this as because of this reason they made me change the room almost 5 times. The last room that was allotted to me had a faulty ac and it took them almost 5 hours to again shift my room and I was sweating out in this hot humid weather in their room with and ac that doesn't work and no fan or cooler. It's about to be 2 am and I am still awake in my 6th room because the ac in my room isn't working and after complaining to them they have surrendered saying other rooms aren't in a condition to be given and no one can fix the ac hence they will provide me with a fan and a cooler. Now the scene in my room is I have a noisy fan and a cooler leaking water and my room literally flooded with water. Last but not least, I had gone for site seeing in Guwahati today and while my way back I had ordered a dish in the restaurant an hour and a half before I reached the hotel and requested them to prepare it before I reached the hotel as my 11 year old son was very hungry. I have 3 reminder calls too for the same and while I reached the hotel neither was my order ready nor did they have an excuse for not doing so... This has been my experience in this hotel in the past 2 days. I really have my sympathies with people who will still choose to stay in this hotel despite all the odds in favour of this hotel. All in all in my view this hotel is worse than even a cheap motel.

Awesome stay at gateway Grandeur pleasent atmosphere ,location at main market town ,specially restaurant staff very co operative mainly samar,jyotishman ,karena they were very alert and served politely ...well behaviour and always smile on there face ,restaurant manager om was very helpful throught out stay .food was delicious ,breakfast ,dinner tremendous taste overall I like homely atmosphere .I would suggest everyone to visit the hotel once while you visit guwahati

The lady on the front desk was very rude.Not at all hospitable she needs to be polite I’m bound to write this review because the way she answered of my question by raising her voice was not at all acceptable the people sitting on the lobby was looking at her.Worst behaviour please give proper training to her.
