Kulube Hotel

we had an absolutely beautiful stay at Kulube hotel! it’s selling points absolutely are the lovely 2 pools and private beach, all facilities overlooking the sea. an idyllic quiet location, and super easy to get into kalkan via taxi! breakfast was tasty, staff were kind- couldn’t have asked for more! thank you very much for a wonderful stay X

This hotel is a gem, it is situated on the outskirts of Kalkan in Kalamar Bay, it sits on a hillside overlooking Kalamar Bay, Mouse and Snake islands! Its location means there are lots of levels and lots of steps but amazing views!! There are 2 pools and a beach club that offers several decks and sunbathing areas as well as a beautiful restaurant overlooking the sea, perfect for a lazy lunch and a chance to get out of the sun! The sea is perfect for swimming and snorkelling or just for cooling off!! It is a quiet and peaceful hotel and charming! We have been visiting for about 14 years now and have seen many changes and improvements, new rooms and suites but the hotel still remains a quiet oasis. Kalkan and its beach are a short taxi ride away, taxis can be ordered at reception and you never wait longer than 3 or 4 minutes! Kalkan has a Thursday market and many wonderful restaurants but closer to The Kulube is House kitchen and bar, a 5 minute walk away, it is a lovely restaurant serving a variety and wide choice of dishes. I guarantee you will visit more than once, Ali the owner makes you very welcome! We stay in a deluxe room which has a huge terrace overlooking the bay, it has shade in the afternoons and a bistro set as do all the rooms. Breakfast includes cheese, jams, bread, yogurt, tomatoes, salad, cereal, hard boiled eggs, dried fruit, olives, omelettes and as much tea and coffee as you can drink. We often take a tea or coffee back to our terrace. You are also provided with a litre bottle of water to keep every day with breakfast. The rooms do not have tea or coffee making facilities but we take a travel kettle!

Had a lovely stay at the kulube. It’s such a relaxing hotel with stunning views. There are multiple areas to sit and relax or to soak up the sun. On site meals can be eaten on the terrace restaurant which are very good. There are a choice of different types of room. Many thanks to oken,, Harke and all the staff for a wonderful stay.

This was our second stay in this lovely hotel which is in a fantastic setting and has its own beach club where you can relax & have easy access to swim in the sea. It’s lovely & peaceful to watch the boats sail out in a morning and then back again at tea time. It also has a couple of swimming pools, one of which is a beautiful infinity pool. There are a variety of room styles at different price ranges and spread around the complex. As most people have mentioned, there are many steps to the various levels so a certain level of fitness & mobility is needed. The staff were lovely - special mention to Sadah on reception who was always helpful and friendly, Hakki at breakfast who was brilliant and Hussain & Berkay down at the beach bar for great service and friendliness. As the hotel is situated a bit away from Kalkan centre, taxies are a must for most people but these are readily available and inexpensive so we didn’t find it a problem. Some hardy souls did walk it and weren’t phased by the steep hill but they were in the minority. The beach bar served lunches and overall the food was good but it would be great if they could vary the menu a little & include some meze type dishes. All in all, an excellent holiday.

If you want some of the best views you will get from a hotel then the Kulube is where you want to be! We were welcomed by a very friendly team in reception and taken to our room. We opted for the superior suite with private pool and balcony or terrace. This title did confuse me somewhat as it does seem you can't opt for a terrace or a balcony, you just get what is available. Both suites are together so the room with the balcony is above the room with the pool (so a kind of private villa if you are 2 couples traveling and book both of these!) I did wonder though if the pool was shared with both suites as they can both access it (the people in the balcony suite can just come down stairs and walk round the side of the bottom suite in theory and access the pool) and I read a review on here that someone did actually experience people from the suite upstairs nipping down for a swim but that's not the case, at least not now. The photos show 4 sun loungers round the pool whereas both suites are for 1-2 people so that suggests it is shared but I was there last week and there are only 2 sun loungers so if it ever was shared, it looks like they decided to scrap that idea as it would be a bit odd anyway in my opinion. I'm only going into great detail with the pool as I genuinely couldn't work it out 🤣 So hopefully if anyone else has the same question here is your answer 👍 We were in the bottom suite which is lovely, I assume the suite upstairs is pretty much the same interior wise. The doors lead out onto a terrace and a private infinity pool. The suite itself is nice, one thing to note there is barely anything in it so no kettle, cutlery, plates, hob etc. Not an issue for us but if you plan to spend a bit more time in the room itself and enjoy the pool you'd either need to bring your own accessories or sort something out with the hotel who can maybe supply these. A cleaner comes in daily and does a great job. There is also a fridge with mini bar and I think they are very on the ball with keeping that stocked as it seemed every time I went in for a beer, it was full again! There is no doubt about it, if you have mobility issues this probably isn't the hotel for you as there are steps... and lots of them! The hotel is built into a hill side so from reception all the pools (there are 2), bars and food areas are all down various sets of steps and inevitably for every set of steps you go down, at some point you are going to have to go back up again! Following the steps right to the bottom will lead you directly into the sea. Yes, that's right the sea is accessible directly from the hotel which is truly unique. Location wise, Kalkan town with it's plethora of shops, restaurants and bars is around 1.5 miles away so not far at all however given the hills involved in that journey most people are not going to walk, not only would it be a hike and a half, it'd be a true mission dodging the crazy taxis and scooters that come whizzing by. Marvelous, private beach and Mr Okan as the key, problem solving person.....Kulube Otel in biref Breakfast included, very satisfying. One point needs attention is the multipl steps due to Kalkans unique geography to get to the unique beach.
