We were visiting family in Mattawan and needed a hotel for a few nights in the area. So we had a choice of Paw Paw to Kalamazoo. Unfortunately we read all the reviews of all the hotels in the area, and to be honest, considered cancelling the trip. According to the reviews we read there is not a single hotel that is not bed bug infested, filthy, etc. We were very concerned about the availability of any hotel in the area that wasn't a filthy dump with horrible service. We decided on this property based on a few bright spots in a few reviews, but were cautiously optimistic to not expect much. My only real question, all those reviews, what the hell!!! Turns out this hotel was not only a pretty nice property, but the staff were all super polite, accommodating, friendly and helpful. The negative reviews we read, Twilight zone or something? keep in mind, this is not a 5 star Hilton in Maui, but it certainly lives up to the standard expected, and then some. Check in was smooth and quick, the parking lot was clear of snow, entry was clear, the room stood out by virtue of the maintenance, usually in smaller hotel chains you see the wear and tear on the room, ours looked fresh and well maintained. The beds and covers were clean and fresh, the window black out drapes were perfect, and the room was quiet. The breakfast was more than expected, a great selection of hot and cold, including 2 waffle makers (large and small) And the ladies taking care were always cleaning and restocking. We had a full kitchen, and surprisingly even a dishwasher, all in great repair. Only 2 'negatives” we had a 1 bedroom suite and they have a small fan between the living room and bedroom, and if used is a bit noisy(we left the door open) and the pool was ice, my daughter and I always use the pool, and we did here, but it was just too cold. This was likely isolated (maybe a heater issue?) and we were disappointed, but the quality of the building, people and breakfast outweighed these minor negatives. Thank you!

UUtente ospiteIn town for a Junior roller derby bout. I’m so glad I chose this place. Fridge, microwave, plenty of outlets and USB ports. Everything is clean and pretty new looking. The gentleman who has been working today, Trey, was extremely welcoming. Besides that, I’ve seen him working hard all evening. I sat for a while in the lobby, drinking fresh coffee, reading a book and was very comfortable. I hope to be in town again and will stay here.

Quasi come il tentativo di ammodernare era semplicemente una copertura. Pro: il personale, il personale e il personale. Reid, il barista al bar dell'hotel era l'accento del nostro viaggio. Fascinante e divertente. Torneremo solo per parlare con lui un po'di più. Il bar lobby / hotel sono ben fatto. Prendi un po' e andare a mangiare per un snack. Le letti e le lame sono vere Sheraton. Vorrei portarli a casa. Non si adatta alla valigia. Camera tranquilla. Non potevo sentire molto fuori. Forse non succede molto. Io, personalmente, come il forte fan sul riscaldamento / acciaio. Non appena si è verificato questo, abbiamo sentito la gente nella stanza accanto alla porta parlare. Nessuna cortina, ma le ombre nere funzionavano meravigliosamente. Cons: Vedi le foto Chiusura nella stanza è stata presa e rack e safe solo appoggiata. strano. Il caffè nel lobby è fantastico! Ma la tazza più grande che si adatta è una tazza di stirofoam per bambini. C'era un cremaio liquido però. Più. Il bagno. Così tanto potenziale. Muri sporchi. Asciugamani di carta. Bleh. Ascensore odore terribile. Non è colpa dell'hotel. In generale, era solo me per 170 dollari a notte.Speravo di avere una stanza migliore.

The rooms were clean, the place was well staffed and the employees really did their best to make you feel welcome and looked after. The breakfast both days was ample with lots of choices and slightly varied for the folks staying for more than one night. Our first room smelled a bit weird and the desk agent was appalled and immediately gave us another room which was much better. The beds weren’t the greatest but overall I can’t find anything to complain about. The water was even either naturally soft or they have softened it which was nice and the towels were large and thick for budget hotel hotels. Could be softer but they could also have been rougher so I’m happy. J would stay here again! Good job!
