Hotel a 3 stelle a Kaikoura

We were recommended to stay, by friends, and we were not disappointed. Very clean, tidy, cosy unit for an overnight stay on our way to Christchurch. Friendly hosts, Shirley and Morgan, and our unit 12, Studio unit had everything we needed. Quiet from highway noise. You do hear the 2 trains but we love hearing them. Loved the fact that we could go out the gate at the end of the property and walk onto the beautiful, pounding surf beach. Sunrise the next morning, with snow on the mountains, was stunning. We will be back.

I always stay here when coming up to kaikoura on surf trips. The place is perfect, hosts are incredible, rooms are tidy, warm, and clean…. It’s also walking distance to a ripper fish burger: great option when the waves are on or if you’re passing through.

Reasons to book Some of the rooms have stunning views out to the Ocean. The lodge is handily located so that it’s an easy downhill stroll to the restaurants in Kaikoura. Equally it’s no more than 15mins to walk to the whale watching station Things to consider The owners understandably ask that you let them know if you are going to be checking in late. Our ferry into Picton meant that we wouldn’t be arriving until circa 7pm. It took 4 days of unanswered phone calls and a non replied e mail before we finally got through as we were leaving Wellington. Instructions were left on the kitchen door as to where to find our room. 2 of the rooms do not have an Ocean view. It would be a very different experience if staying in one of these. Breakfast is somewhat unusual. A continental selection is left out in the kitchen. You come in, load your tray and take it back to your room. Trays are to be returned afterwards. The daily quantity of food available is driven by the number of guests. I didn’t see anything being replenished during the 8.00 - 9.00 allocated time. Our room was perfectly fine although the bathroom was a bit poorly lit. No safe in the room and no air con. Then again, non promised either. Keys are deposited in a box as you leave. The strange thing is that you could have no interaction from start to finish. If self scanning checkouts and checking in your own luggage at airports is your thing, look no further.

10 persone, tre giorni. Una splendida posizione e un sacco di posti e letti per ospitare 8 adulti (3 coppie, due singleton) e 2 adolescenti. Grandi impianti di cucina e una bella pausa. Vicino alle strutture, e la passeggiata di Tom è un buon allenamento per coloro che sono così inclinati.

New modern hotel with a mainly neutral colour scheme. Reasonable amount of parking on site, or plenty along the Esplanade. Rooms average size. We went as a group so we had no choice, many of us ended up in rooms with twin beds, they are very comfortable but when you share your bed with your spouse, this wasn't expected nor enjoyed. No electric blankets. It's the middle of winter. I did phone reception 3 times over a couple of issues but the calls were never answered. The rooms heat pump is good, though no heating in the corridor and reception is rather cool too. Tea and coffee making facilities and a small fridge. Glasses, but no wine glasses in the rooms. Good sized bathroom and good shower. They only provide one hard club chair, seating for anyone else there's a round squab or the bed. Most of the signs are in Maori, only one in our large group could understand a few words. The large group of Asians also staying had no idea of what anything meant. Excellent staff. Helpful and friendly. Uniforms a little casual for this level of hotel. Catering for large groups can often be a challenge, the food offered suited all tastes and was very good. Good cocktail menu. I don't drink much, but really enjoy an Aussie Shiraz, but they only stock NZ wines. Just meant I drank water. The hotel is sited down the south end of the Esplanade, so a bit of a walk to the township. Good, modern, clean, quiet 4.5 star hotel.

Salutato dal direttore che ha preso il tempo di chiedere il nostro viaggio finora e quello dei nostri futuri piani. La zona di accoglienza era ben memorizzata con informazioni relative alla zona locale, ma il manager era anche molto disposto a consigliare su qualsiasi interesse che avevamo. La stanza era al livello superiore che ci ha consentito di avere una splendida vista sul mare Kaikouras. Stupendo di svegliarsi, e di guardare tutto il giorno. Soprattutto mentre era neve. Avendo un balcone su cui continuare la loro ammirazione era un bonus. Studio era grande, invitante, e comodo. Contenente un grande letto confortevole, sedie e una tavola su cui si può lavorare. Kitchenette era grande e ben conservata con utensili e bevande complimentarie (tea/caffee/cioccolato bevande). Il bagno era grande e conteneva una splendida doccia in un bagno, lasciando che uno dovesse fare la scelta agonizzante tra una lavatrice calda altamente pressione o una lunga immersione in mezzo alle bolle. Entrambi sono garantiti di portare in uno stato di tranquillità. Un profondo valore per i soldi. Una decisione di passare la notte qui a casa (a soli due ore) ha già portato a fare prenotazioni per tornare per un periodo prolungato.

Sono un ospite regolare al Lobster Inn, sono lì ogni due settimane e sono sempre impressionato dal servizio amichevole e utile, le camere sono sempre senza spot, bellissimi letti comodi, i proprietari si prendono cura di fornire un servizio vecchio e sono sempre in moda. Il bar e il ristorante possono godere di una buona varietà di pasti con specialità regolari e aggiunte al menu. Viaggio a lungo per il mio lavoro e ho una buona occasione di criticare l' alloggio dell' Isola meridionale le tariffe del Lobster Inn Kaikoura al top della mia lista preferita .

Viaggiando in via strada per 6 settimane in Nuova Zelanda, dopo un giorno di guida, siamo arrivati per un soggiorno di 2 notti, pronti a sistemarsi e rilassarsi. Purtroppo c'era un errore nella nostra prenotazione - abbiamo prenotato 2 notti, ma ci hanno avuto solo per una notte e è stato il weekend di Pasqua occupato. La nostra prenotazione è stata fatta 11 mesi prima e immediatamente hanno riconosciuto il loro errore e ci hanno aggiornato all'unica stanza sinistra, un appartamento di fronte alla spiaggia! La stanza era una posizione molto pulita, meravigliosa e la migliore di tutte, un letto molto confortevole e un incredibile rifugio per sedersi e guardare l'oceano dalle nostre porte della cortile!

Great room, great lookout to the Kaikoura ranges and the beautiful foreshore. Less than a 10min walk to town and great eateries there to have a meal. If there is one criticism, it would be that a sign be placed on the doors for those upstairs to show some compassion for others and close their doors quietly. particularly late at nigh and early in the morning. Otherwise I would recommend this place.
