You can also walk along coast from the gate at our ocean front pool and get in the water a couple min walk where there is black sand. (need tennis or hiking boots as it can get rocky near the end) There are a few other beaches close by and a bay with in a half mile where boats will take you out snorkeling, fishing, tours, and popular Manta Ray swimming at night that you can see at our place at night in Master bedroom window. (we walk there) You can swim, snorkel and picnic there with less crowds. There are many brochures to look at in our place. Our remodeled kitchen is beautifully appointed and well equipped with a full size refrigerator, dishwasher, stove/range and microwave oven, blender, coffee maker and toaster. We LOVE to cook! Your kitchen is well stocked with sharp knives, quality dishes, glassware and all the dining and cooking utensils you’ll need. We’ve even prepared a separate BBQ drawer with all the items usually needed for the poolside grills. October is a very popular month as the Ironman Triathlon World Championship comes to the Kailua-Kona Pier. The 2.4 mile open ocean swim begins and ends from the Pier in Kailua Kona Bay, just 3.5 miles from our condo. The 112 mile bike ride races around Kona before heading out to the Queen Ka’ahumanu Highway up to Hawi Town and back. The athletes hop off their bikes at the Pier and head out for a nice 26.2 mile marathon under the Hawaii Sun and finish near the Banyan Tree on Alii Drive. From White Sands Village, you can cheer on the athletes as they pass you 2 times, out and back on the marathon course. It’s a great day for spectators and athletes alike. Ironman fans also know the Ironman 70.3 “Honu” is held in June at Mauna Lani Resort, just a short 40 minute drive away. Location is everything, and we think White Sands Village is the perfect vacation spot. Directly across Alli Drive is the beautiful White Sands Beach, aka La Aloa Beach Park, aka Magic Sands Beach. Boogie Board, Snorkel, play Volleyball or just hang out and relax. Just 1 mile south is some of the best snorkeling on the Island at Kahalu’u State Park. View hundreds of species of tropical fish and graceful sea turtles in protected, calm waters. Or, learn to surf from the perfect point break with expert instructors. 2 miles south is Keauhou Bay, home to the Kona Country Club and 36 holes of Championship Golf. Both courses are open to the public. This is a beautiful 2 Bedrooom / 2 Bath townhouse directly on the oceanfront at the Keauhou Kona Surf & Racquet Club. This is a gated community with 4 lighted pickleball/ 3 tennis courts, swimming pool, and community BBQ & picnic areas. There is no air conditioning in the unit. There is a nice breeze from the ocean with the windows open and each bedroom has a ceiling fan and a stand-up fan, if desired. At night it can be cool with the ceiling fan and you might need a blanket! Since it is located directly on the oceanfront there is the possibility of the lanai being closed off when the civil defense issues a high surf warning. The complex management will close up the lanai area to protect the townhouse from the surf. In December 2022, the townhouse had a major renovation. The kitchen was entirely remodeled installing new cabinets and counters, new recessed lighting and new appliances. The laundry facilities are upstairs in the bathroom which has a large shower at the end of the room with a large window overlooking the ocean. The living room, kitchen, bathrooms and stairs have been tiled with travertine. New mattresses were installed in all the bedrooms in May 2019. The downstairs bathroom had a remodel of the shower in August 2019. Living room, dining room and stairwell were freshly painted in March 2021!Let the soft breeze and ocean waves lull you to sleep in the Makai (toward the ocean) Master Bedroom, furnished with a King bed and cable TV. The tropical Mauka (mountain side) bedroom has two twin beds, and teak and bamboo furnishings.
