We hit the jackpot with this lovely B&B. We didn't want to be right at the cruise ships, nor be looking at tourists walking and big buildings at the pier. It was five minutes into the heart of the shopping and restaurants. What we really appreciated was the historic neighborhood just far enough away to feel like you were not in the fray, but close enough to walk into town multiple times in one day. The food and ambience were wonderful. Elizabeth and Bing could not have been more gracious hosts!

The Inn is an old Colonial building opposite the capital building (great quiet location) On arrival first impression is the big For Sale sign (a little disconcerting) It seems the inn owners have been trying to sell it for years! The current caretakers are delightful (Elizabeth and Bing), they were so helpful in answering any question before arrival (trips, recommendations etc) On early arrival our room (Governors Suite) was ready (Thank You) and Elizabeth gave us a great explanation of the Inn and its facilities. Our room was on the top floor (attic) It was large, was a little quirky, though we thought it would be! Positives, it was quiet Negatives, It could have done with more storage space, bathroom has No door, getting in and out of bed is Challenging (In hindsight should have chosen another room) The Inn is cute with all its items scattered around, though it is dark. Wine, coffee, hot water and snacks are available on the credenza (all day) In my research of where to stay in Juneau, The Alaska's Capital Inn came with the best reviews, I can see why it gained them, though the high prices are more about Juneau/competition. The city is all about cruise ships, on average 6 a day, it does get busy.

Peaceful charming haven 5 blocks from Pier. Hosted by Elizabeth and Bing - delightful and engaging caretakers providing stellar breakfasts and home baked goodies. They are generous with guidance for local hikes, and dining fare. Exceeded expectations!

Proprietors Elizabeth and Bing are the the nicest, most accommodating hosts anyone could hope for. Delicious and interesting (group) breakfast. The separate cottage I stayed in was delightful -- spacious, quiet, large glassed French doors to a deck. Like the main house, it's charmingly furnished with early 20th century furniture and bric-a-brac, but a very comfortable bed and modern bathroom. On a quiet side street, conveniently located to the tourist attractions.

What a wonderful experience! The B&B is pristine and Elizabeth and Bing are wonderful hosts. Breakfast was amazing and they accommodated my food preferences. Elizabeth also helped us with restaurant suggestions and attractions. In addition she found an excellent urgent care for me. We highly recommend Alaska’s Capitol Inn B&B!

Our stay at Alaska’s Capital Inn was truly remarkable…a delightfully historic experience in the heart of town attended to warmly by a young couple each brimming in a mastery of natural hospitality. And, oh, did I mention the beyond gourmet breakfast to be had before going forth with your day? You will not be disappointed!

Gold Nugget in Juneau: Alaska’s Capital Inn
We stayed at Alaska’s Capital Inn during Christmas 2024, and it was an unforgettable experience. The inn is steeped in Juneau’s history, offering a unique charm that makes you feel connected to the town’s past. The hosts, Elizabeth and Bing, are incredibly hospitable, professional, and friendly. They went above and beyond to provide us with excellent recommendations for exploring Juneau, all of which turned out to be perfect for our visit.
The highlight of our stay was the delicious Christmas dinner they prepared and shared with us—a truly special and heartwarming gesture. The breakfasts were equally amazing: hearty, fulfilling, and the perfect way to start the day.
Our room was cozy and full of authentic historic details that added to the inn’s character. It was an amazing stay, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommend Alaska’s Capital Inn to anyone visiting Juneau!

What a delightful B&B! Our room was very comfortable, and the bathroom was large and well lit. Elizabeth and Bing were the perfect hosts, and breakfast with the other guests felt like a family gathering. The food was delicious, and portions were enormous, to the point that my husband and I shared one plate and were still full. Our only regret is that we chose to go into town for dinner and missed out on a gorgeous halibut entree that Bing prepared for the other guests who chose to stay for dinner. Downtown Juneau is a very easy walk away, yet the neighborhood is quiet and tranquil. We loved our stay at Capital Inn.
