Citrus Hotel Johor Bahru by Compass Hospitality

Located nearby to City Square Mall, Komtar JBCC and the CIQ. Great for day/weekend stay in nearby Johor Bahru mall for food, drinks, massage, movies and family karaoke. Front desk personnel and doorman were very friendly and polite. Chamber maids were helpful. Good price for a resting overnight place as mostly one will be in the malls.

Check in was easy, staff was very courteous & professional. Stay was fine for the rate paid. Thank you.

I took a leap of faith and booked this hotel room despite some negative feedback from other travellers about this hotel on various platforms. I was upgraded to the deluxe room by the kind receptionist Ikmal. Thank you very much! Here’s my honest review of the room. First impression, the deluxe room was extremely spacious. The room was also very clean. The bed sheet smells fresh. There were some minor spots on the bed sheet but it wasn’t a big deal. The hotel provided 2 pairs of slippers and 2 bottles of water. I did not use the water kettle. All the basic amenities in the washroom was also available. The aircon took a while to get running but it got colder as the night draws in. The noise isolation of the room was rather poor as I could hear noises from outside the hotel even though I was on the 8th floor. Despite the noises, I was able to sleep relatively well thanks to the soft pillows provided. One thing I found annoying was that the bathroom door cannot be closed shut fully. As the the result, some of the cool air from the air conditioning escaped into the bathroom. Please note that if you’re driving into JB, I don’t think this hotel has a parking lot. Kindly confirm before booking. Overall, I would book this hotel again as the pros (close proximity to the customs and dining options, clean room and value for money) outweighs the cons and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a decent hotel to stay without breaking the bank. OK location. The cup and kettle inside the cupboard not so nice. Anyway just a pleasant stay. The hotel area is okay. 🙂

A no frills hotel juat near the city. Lots of shopping and food around the area.

The hotel has a great location. It is just a street away from City Square Shopping Mall. It also has many local food around the area. Convenient for Singaporeans to have a short staycation with cheap shopping in JB.

Our first time here. Room size was okay but standing shower was too small for plus size like me 😬 There's no iron and ironing board in the room. Only one sachet of coffee and longan tea given plus two bottles of water. Location was very convenient. Very good customer service from doormen to housekeeping staff. Good job. We will be back again.
