Hotel in zona Stadtmission Johannesburg, Johannesburg

The hotel is beautiful and situated on a gorgeous golf course very close to Cresta Shopping Centre - however it feels like you are in the country. I checked in for 3 nights - looking forward to baths each night as I have only showers at thome - and was warmly welcomed by the reception team (not my first stay there so I was happy to return). I was given a room close to the pool and at first, all appeared well. The room is well appointed and very spacious with a gorgeous bath and shower. The bath however leaked out all the water and despite adjusting the pop-up plug, the water loss was significant and I eventually gave up the idea of a bath. By the way, the washbasins also leaked out all the water. I then reported it and apparently it was 'fixed' by the maintenance team the following day. Needless to say, the bath still leaked ( but slightly less this time). I again reported it for fixing the next day. The next day, I was moved to a gorgeous suite, the Ernie Els suite, which was truly lovely and much appreciated. I couldnt wait to have a bath! I ran the bath and went to make a cup of tea. I arrived back in the bathroom and .... voila! no water in the bath. Exactly the same problem AGAIN! Both washbasins also leaked by the way as I was trying to revive a bouquet of flowers in one of them and found after two minutes, the basin was empty. A few other things were wrong too - the gas fire in the room wouldnt automatically ignite - you needed a lighter (I'm a non-smoker). The curtain had come off the rail. The TV in the bedroom would not switch off and also only had a very soft volume level that could not be increased. On a positive note, the breakfasts were awesome and the general staff really helpful, professional and service orientated. The maintenance team however, needs to be challenged on the plumbing/water losses in the rooms. So I never did get my bath that I so desperately wanted in all the 3 nights I stayed there...

If there were another Hilton’s in Johannesburg, that is where I’d be staying. But there is no other option for a loyal Hilton guy like me, so I spent 10 nights at the Hilton Sandton. I will readily admit that from day-to-day, the staff and the facilities were absolutely wonderful. Staff were friendly and accommodating, the Executive Lounge was very well serviced, the restaurant was excellent, the hotel grounds superb, the Business Centre efficient. I had pre-arranged airport pickup and daily business rides through the hotel and our driver MORGAN proved himself many times over to be reliable and flexible thoughout my stay. However, both the checkin and checkout process with the Front Desk were distasteful, disturbed my entire stay, and made me wish I was somewhere else. I had reserved and prepaid for a King room; as a long time Diamond member, I naturally expected some sort of upgrade, especially since I was staying for 10 nights. After 18 hours of flights, and a further 24 hours of layover, all I wanted to do was sleep. I had checked in online and knew my room assignment. At the Front Desk, I handed over my American Express Hilton card, and passports for my wife and I to HOWARD (“an experienced Front Office team member” according to hotel General Manager JOHN MCAREE). At first, HOWARD could not find my reservation and, next, once found thought it had been cancelled and, next, thought the reservation was in my wife’s name (it was not), and finally when he found the reservation, took a copy of my wife’s passport (but not my own for some unknown reason). I then had the temerity to ask if there any possibility of an upgrade. “Oh no no no” said Howard. “Why not” I asked. “Because you checked in online. Once the room is assigned, there is no changing it” said HOWARD. I knew from experience this was rubbish and not in compliance with Hilton policy or procedures. Indeed, when I checkedin online, the Hilton website said that an upgrade would be made available if possible. So I gently persisted in my questioning, and Howard gently insisted that no upgrade was possible since I had checked in online. I believe it was only when I asked for the business card of the General Manager that HOWARD checked with a colleague and, indeed, an upgrade was magically offered. It was the lowest level of upgrade possible, but something is better than nothing. I thanked him for the upgrade, and again asked for the GM’s business card. They had none. Indeed, they wrote down his name for me (three times with three different spellings) but did not know his phone # or email address. (I later googled him and got both). Perhaps due to this little interaction, HOWARD forgot to tell me about the Business Centre, the gift shop, the free shuttle to the local mall, hotel restaurant hours, the WIFI code, the hotel spa, or any of the other hotel services. He did mention the Executive Lounge several times in a tone approaching reverence. Never in my 20 years of experience with Hilton

Il Mint Hotel 84 offre le basi giuste con camere pulite, confortevoli e personale amichevole.La mia camera era doppia standard con letto regine, aveva tutto quello che mi serviva, tra cui un ufficio, un caffè e una buona pressione idrica nel bagno. Il letto era piuttosto comodo e la stanza era pulita ogni giorno. Il colazione diffuso nella zona di pranzo aveva una varietà di opzioni, tra cui cereali, tostapane, frutta, pascoli e uova. Il cibo era di qualità e freschezza media, non eccezionale, ma sufficiente per iniziare il giorno. Il personale di servizio presso il dipartimento frontale e il concierge erano piacevoli, utili ed efficienti ogni volta che avevo domande, e hanno fornito raccomandazioni per ristoranti e attrazioni nella zona. L'hotel dispone di una piscina all'aperto e di un centro fitness, anche se non ho usato il centro fitness durante il mio soggiorno. In generale, l'Hotel Mint 84 offre alloggi a buon punto e senza frill in una posizione conveniente per esplorare Katherine. Il punto di prezzo è giusto per la qualità che si ottiene, rendendolo una scelta solida per il business standard o per il viaggio di svago.

Air conditioning was not working throughout our stay. Requested a fan several times kept being told none were available. Saw an employee taking a fan upto a room but we were still told none available. Upon requesting a compensation for the trouble we went through a fan miraculously appeared when it was almost time to check out

Ho avuto recentemente il piacere di stare in questo bel hotel e devo dire che ha superato tutte le mie aspettative. Dalla mia arrivo, mi sono impressionato con la sua eccellente posizione, il servizio di top-notch e l’ospitalità generale. La posizione dell'hotel era semplicemente eccellente, convenientemente situato, consentendo un facile accesso alle attrazioni e alle attrazioni vicine. Che si tratti di esplorare la città o di prendere un'avventura safari, la posizione centrale dell'hotel lo ha reso una base perfetta per i miei viaggi. Il servizio offerto dal personale dell'hotel era davvero eccezionale. Da la calda accoglienza all'iscrizione all'assistenza attenta durante il mio soggiorno, mi sentivo davvero attento. Il personale si è mosso di sopra e di là per assicurare che tutte le mie esigenze fossero soddisfatte, anche per un favore speciale, che mi permettesse di lasciare la valigia mentre ero via sul safari, e che la loro flessibilità e la loro natura di accoglienza fossero molto apprezzate. L'hotel stesso era una vista da vedere, e ha esaltato l'eleganza e il fascino, con i suoi interni ben progettati e le sue strutture ben mantenute. L'attenzione ai dettagli è stata evidente in ogni aspetto, dalle stanze decorate con gusto alle aree comuni invitanti, e è stato un piacere tornare in uno spazio così confortevole e invitante dopo un lungo giorno di esplorazione. Il personale è così gentile e lieto di aiutare, le camere sono spaziose e molto pulite, e il colazione ha una varietà molto diversa. La posizione è molto centrale all'interno della zona di Sandton, che rende molto facile il movimento intorno, soprattutto perché forniscono servizi di navetta verso e da il centro di Sandton.

Abbiamo avuto una notte di soggiorno qui prima di andare a Kruger. Pros: - Reconnaissance for IHG Diamond Elite Member. - La posizione si sentiva sicura in un parco commerciale che era stato incastrato intorno con un posto di comando di sicurezza. - La stanza era di dimensioni decenti e la doccia funzionava bene. Cons: - La stanza era buia, anche se avevamo tutte le luci aperte. - La nostra porta (102) non si apre bene, probabilmente perché il telaio era più alto vicino alla porta. - Era rumoroso, perché la nostra stanza (102) era vicino all’autostrada, così potevamo sentire tutti i veicoli passando. - Ho chiesto il piano alto, ma io ho ricevuto il piano più basso.

Questo posto è fantastico e il servizio è eccellente. Divertito il mio soggiorno e desiderato non è solo per una notte. La posizione è grande, e non lontano dall'aeroporto. Il posto è pulito, il letto confortevole e la camera ha tutto quello che si può bisogno.

I stayed I the holiday inn Johannesburg for about 5 weeks for business, the rooms were comfortable and quiet considering the amount of air traffic overhead , the rooms were clean and well kept , the staff were great , and breakfast was varied and good selection , the hotel is kept secure by the gate staff . Special thanks to the bar staff who tried their best to keep the bar stocked for 8 people sitting drinking by the pool most days ( Linda and William can’t remember the other names ) but they all done a great job Would certainly return again on next visit well done guys and girls
