Trowell Historic Inn

We wanted to travel off the beaten path on a spontaneous trip north. Trowell Historic bed and breakfast was very hospitable and accepted us the day of! Our beautiful hostess made a great breakfast for us, bacon, eggs and coffee cake. We had a restful sleep in a luxurious bed with soft sheets and pillows. The home was very clean and quaint.. we will definitely stay again when driving through Georgia thanks to Pam and her brightness and kindness.

We stayed here on our way to Sapelo Island from Atlanta. We were welcomed warmly, oriented to the house and then the neighborhood so that we then walked a quarter of a mile or so to downtown Jesup. Inn was very clean and comfortable. Also, Pam, the owner was very accommodating as we left early to make our ferry later with warm banana muffins, coffee and tea-to-go in hand! Definitely stay over. The Inn is newly renovated with lots of charm.

Interesting history is detailed in book displayed in parlor. Charming place, clean, in the heart of downtown Jesup. Cons: train runs 40 times per day on nearby tracks, including at night. Shower in our room was smaller than an RV, impossible to turn around and bathe comfortably. Breakfast was very basic, not a big spread like some I have experienced at other B&B's. Price was reasonable.

We stayed at the Trowell Historic Inn in downtown Jesup while traveling from North Carolina to Florida. We like to take the peaceful Hwy 301 backroad and this was a convenient stopping point. We were so happy with our stay that we stayed again on our return trip. So, we've spent one night in one-half of the four rooms offered by the Inn. Both were spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. We heard no other guest noise at night - just the train that passes through town. The innkeeper - Pam - is a delightfully hospitable host. She has an effortless way of accommodating guests while staying mostly in the background. She personally cooks and serves breakfast, and both times the food was outstanding! On our first stay, she served a French toast casserole, choice of sausage or bacon, and sautéed homegrown squash. Honestly, I'm still thinking about it. On our second stay, those squash reappeared (just as good as the first time), with scrambled eggs and a fresh fruit salad. Two other things worth mentioning - guests can sit on the front porch and enjoy the Mayberry vibe, or have a quiet chat around tables in the back garden. We travel regularly, and our stays here were memorable. We'll definitely return!

Friendly hosts that will make you feel like family when gathered around the kitchen counter but won't intrude when you want to be alone. My room was primarily for sleeping, but we were encouraged to use the first-floor parlor which was excellent for streaming shows on my laptop. Strong, reliable wifi. My stay in Jesup was primarily to see what was playing that weekend at the Jesup Drive-In; I was given a code to unlock the front door after the double feature was over with no problem.

My husband and I stayed this past weekend at Trowell Inn B & B to attend a wedding. As soon as we walked into the door Ms. Pam greeted us with a worm smile and the most welcoming experience. She greeted us with some sweet ginger cookies and our room was well stocked with coffee, which was refreshing after a long drive. The home was extremely clean and quite charming as well as stocked with all the essentials. Our room was very inviting with a comfortable bed. after returning from the wedding, I would have to say, this was the quietest stay I have ever had away from home. In the morning, and I might add that we did not feel rushed, we were greeted with a wonderful breakfast and the opportunity to meet a couple that had stayed overnight as well. Again, if you are ever in the area of Jesup, I can't stress enough to give Ms. Pam a call for a wonderful stay at their charming B & B. Highly recommended! PB
