Iberostar Waves Gaviotas Park

Very nice hotel, near the most beautiful long stretch of beach that has lots of friendly lorokeets and chipmunks that you can feed. Lots on for kids at this hotel, slides were fab. Buffet was always very nice, fresh show cooking was fabulous! Highly recommend the fresh tuna and breakfast pancakes. We will stay here again when we next go to Fuerteventura.

There are two Sister Hotels next to each other. Confusingly one is called Gaviotas Park, the other formerly Playa Gaviotas Park is now Waves Gaviotas Park. Waves is not the hotel on the beach front. It does not have Prestige like Gaviotas Park does, which is a good thing in my opinion. Waves is a lovely hotel, we are going back in September this year. Food is good with lots of it, there is always something available all day. There is one large heated pool and another large pool unheated but to be honest, they are both a good temperature. There are always sunbeds available. Guests are predominantly German and there is none of that nonsense of going down at 6 am to reserve beds. That seems to be Brit issue these days. There can be a lot of children here, even outside of the summer holidays as parents choose to bring there under 5’s at that time. The hotel was at capacity when we were there and there was sit plenty for everyone. Well worth a visit.

I wanted to write a thorough review ao here it’s goes. POSITIVE Luxurious settings Good food Friendly staff Plenty of sunbeds Even though there was building going on very close you couldn’t hear it. Room cleaned spotless every day Excellent organic toiletries supplied Impressive views of the ocean ❤️ This is a typical Iberostar hotel with visitors from Europe although mostly German. Go to the Zoo it was great but very hot. ISSUES It’s very isolated, nearest town 20 minute walk or €6 cab ride. And not a lot going on when you get there. The pictures on the website give a false impression that the beach is easily accessible. It is if you don’t mind steps and a slope. There are sunbeds down there but I don’t know who owns them. Would have been great to have had an information folder in the room with such information. The 13-17 “kids” club was non existent. Maybe two activities a week. I specifically chose this hotel as my son is 14 but there was little for him to do. Not much choice for children’s food apart from the usual pizza and cold pasta. Don’t go on a catamaran…. The pools are freezing…. The one near the baby pool is slightly warmer

Excellent hotel and staff are a credit to themselves and the hotel. Well worth the extra to stay in the Prestige suite with the additional benefits (infinity pool was never busy anytime of the day, great views and fabulous food and drinks all self served from the pool area - very healthy options and not junk food which was great). Overall buffet was first class - we’ve stayed in 5 star hotels over the Caribbean and the USA and this was up there with them. Loads of healthy choices, veg options, lots of different meats and fish etc. Gym was perfect and rarely busy (again another benefit for Prestige). Entertainment in the evening was ok but had a very disappointing Abba night as the act only performed for about 30 mins. Evening entertainment came across as limited budget. However, facilities at the hotel for ten pin bowling was great (cheaper than back home !) as well as air hockey (€1), table top footy and pool. Beach at the resort is one of my favourites around the world, UK could learn a lot with how clean and fresh the sea is. Sun beds at the beach are reasonably priced at €5 for the day. Great breeze here so you never get too sweaty ! If you just want a holiday that’s relaxing in the sun at a great beach and without loads of bars and nightlife, the resort is great and hotel would be highly recommended. Will definitely come back - thank you to everyone here at the hotel for such a relaxing 10 days !

We booked this hotel as a last minute break and it did not disappoint. The entertainment for kids was great, all inclusive options were good and the rooms were spacious and clean. The location was great as you were a 5 minute walk to the beach. I would recommend this hotel.

Let me start by saying that my review fully relies on my personal impression of 10 days at Iberostar which was really the best hotel we ever stayed at. So minor things couldn't spoil our vacation and didn't influence my 5 star review. If you're looking for trouble you would probably find some drawbacks to complain about. Let the story begin... Firstly, let me send kudos to the incredible animation team who always kept our kids and us engaged and entertained, namely Ana, Tania, Leon, Dani, Livia and Kati. That's definitely one of the best memories of the hotel. Kid's club and mini disco kept children busy and parents could spend some quality time together. Special thanks for Haloween party - it was impressive and unforgettable. Kids also appreciated mini Aquapark which was a highlight of our stay and all water games including air bouncing castle and magic water carpet. Restaurants and cuisine is just of the next level - everything's so tasty nearly homemade and the choice is always overwhelming! Also I'd like to mention Elina from reception who helped us in any matter during the day. Beach and the ocean is a separate story - it has so many lovely colours I've never seen in my life! Beach is sandy but during tide outs it can become quite rocky so not easy to enter the water. Last but not the least is a selection of alcoholic drinks - you can literally find anything of a good quality, so for example, there're a few descent brands of whisky, gin, rum etc. and everything's all inclusive. I haven't drunk alcohol for a few months before coming to Iberostar but that changed my attitude and I enjoyed everything they have. Now I need another rehab and detox holiday))) There were of course some smaller issues but they cannot influence my 5 star impression. First of all, this is the perfect hotel for families with smaller kids but might be boring for teenagers or younger couples. Music is played only during animation time a few hours during the day and I don't mind having it from 10 to 4, for example, to set a holiday mood but not to disturb anyone. Rooms are a bit shabby and outdated so the renovation that literally started on the last day of our stay came very handy. They promise it will have totally new look and feel next year. Way to the seaside takes around 10 minutes and it can be a bit exhausting for someone. I would suggest to have a straight stairs or an elevator from the hotel if possible. Also there's an issue with sunbeds at the beach since it's occupied by mobsters from Pasion Pirata cafe nearby. They charge 13,5 EUR per two sunbeds and umbrella per day and brutally kick away everyone who doesn't pay. I believe it's not a huge investment for Iberostar to organize sunbed area at the beach of their own. Another thing that comes to my mind is that there's only one beach volley pitch and sometimes there were queues to get into game so would appreciate the second net if possible.
