Having stayed in Caserio del Mirador earlier on this summer, we can wholeheartedly recommend it to those who have young families looking for something a little different. The boutique hotel is perfect for young children, and pretty much has everything on site that you could possible need to keep them entertained (as well as adults). It didn’t take our little one long before he felt at home, both because of the range of things to do to for young children, but also due to Sarah, who alongside her husband Johnny, built this place to be what it is today. It is an amazing retreat that strikes the balance between being fun for the children and having enough for adults. Sarah is both fantastic with children and also an amazing cook. It didn’t take long before she had our little one helping out in the kitchen, helping clean some of the toys and feeding the animals after tea time. Having been home for several weeks now our little boy still asks about Sarah and talks about going back to Spain to see her (as well as Luna the cat), which is a testament to how well Caserio del Mirador works for families. Sarah and Johnny try extremely hard to create a sense of community across guests, which worked really well. We met two other lovely families with the kids playing together, chasing each other around and seeing the various animals across the grounds. This is especially true with the kids tea time (with alcohol provided for the adults), and communal dinners once the kids are in bed. Initially we were reluctant to leave our little one in the room on his own, but within 2 days of being there, and how safe everything feels, we soon were happy to leave him in the room, with a provided baby monitor, giving us the peace of mind he was ok. This allowed us to get to know others and enjoy dinner, which is fantastic, as a group. If you are looking for something that is smaller and more intimate, and not just a run of the mill larger hotel that can feel quite chaotic, then look no further. We both highly recommend Caserio del Mirador but are also likely go back at some point in future, which we rarely do as we generally like seeing new places. A huge thanks to both Sarah and Johnny for making our summer holiday so fun, relaxing and memorable. Chris, Ange and Noah x
