Caserio del Mirador

We had an excellent stay here. Beautiful views, each room unique, privacy if you want, social areas and options if not. Sarah is a great host, organises delicious food if and when you want, recommends places to explore, eat and drink and can organise massages on site! There are great places to explore nearby and a short drive to beautiful beaches. Though it's marketed as a family location, we had a great stay as a couple. You need a car to stay here, as everywhere is a drive away. But no problem to hire cars or motorbikes from Alicante or the towns nearby. We had a wonderful time and would love to come back!

My friend and I have just returned from a 4 night stay at Caserio Del Mirador, where we stayed in the airstream (vintage Amercian caravan) that is located in the grounds. We hired a car and drove from Alicante - Caserio was very easy to find and a straight forward drive, we just put it into out navigation and it took us straight there...but the owners had already sent us a detailed journey breakdown so this helped! We were greeted by Johnny as our car pulled up who gave us a tour, introduced us to the animals and showed us our home for the weekend - as well as introducing us to the other guests :) what a welcome! The airstream was a little piece of heaven. Only a minute walk from the pool area but so quiet you can't hear a thing....no light pollution, the stars are amazing...and, an outdoor shower with a view! You can order an al fresco breakfast delivered to your terrace in the morning, but we chose to have breakfast up at the main villa. The perfect start to each morning. In the evenings (I think there's only 2 evenings a week where there isn't a group meal, Monday and Sunday possibly) there is an amazing group meal made by Sarah. This felt so wholesome compared to staying in a hotel, where you'd sitting at a table on your own. We made friends with all the other guests, shared stories and had a lot of laughs. We were slightly nervous before arriving as we realised the Caserio is best known for families and children...so we weren't sure how two childless friends would fit in...but it was completely the opposite and we were so welcomed. I must also mention that Sarah's Sunday Paella is sensational! Also, it's worth mentioning that we drove into the town Xalo for lunch a couple of times to a great little restaurant called Casa Aleluya (5 min drive)...they do great tapas and have a lovely courtyard out the back. We spent a lot of time with the animals - but they are all happy in their own little homes that guests can choose to spend as much or as little time with them. They seemed to be a massive hit with the children! Although we don't have kids, we've recommended Caserio to everyone we know who does! We've left Caserio with an amazing experience, and also a friend in Sarah who we are already planning to come back and visit next summer. Thank you all so much.
