Jesse Potzernitz should be terminated immediately. He is ruining this resort with his horrendous management I come out from California to stay at the Rustic Inn at least once or twice every year with my elderly father or mother (both 84 years old). We love staying here and look forward to it every time. I have been in customer service for over twenty years and felt that a couple of things needed to be brought to attention. When checking in, I am usually greeted by a friendly smile and happy host. Unfortunately, this was not the case this trip. I asked the girl who was checking me in (she was wearing pigtails and had brown hair) if she could put my mom and I closer to the water, she explained to me that they were sold out and there were no available rooms. I was fine with staying in the room I booked and understood that she could not move us. We love all the cabins and rooms at the Rustic Inn. Not once was she friendly throughout the checking in process, nor did she even smile. As the first person to greet a guest, she failed on all levels and set the tone for the stay. I was SO disappointed in her attitude towards me and shocked at her lack of friendliness and professionalism. When we reached our room, my mom really wanted to take a bath-there are no baths in the cabins we were in. I called the front desk and the same girl picked up and told me all they had was a room facing the parking lot and then she went dead silent-to the point where I had to say "hello?" to make sure she had not hung up on me. Again, completely unprofessional and rude. The next day, as we were walking back to our cabin, I smelled cigarette smoke. I looked and saw two or three doors down that two guests were outside on their porch smoking cigarettes. I told them smoking was not allowed on the property and the woman called my 84 year old mother and I "F'ing b****es" and said there weren't any "no smoking" signs anywhere on the property. I went inside and immediately informed the front desk. When we checked out of the Rustic Inn, I received an email asking how my stay was. I replied honestly and received a very rude email back from the manager, Jesse Potzeritz. With as long as I have been in the customer service industry, I would never have dreamed I would receive not only one but two extremely poor and unprofessional emails from this manager. I have included the emails for you below. Really bummed about the service we received this time around and the manager, Jesse, only made it worse. Providing positive training and setting a good example starts at the top and trickles down to the staff. I think that Jesse has hurt your business and staff by providing a poor example for how to treat guests. I thought it was important for me to reach out to you and let you know what kind of treatment and experience my mom and I received on this trip-I believe this was my ninth time staying at the Rustic Inn.
